Halden, the Empire City, boarders Sweden and is the host of the music festival "Allsang paa grensen", in english "Singalong on the boarder". The fjord runs along the Swedish boarder, and The river "Tista" devide the city in two. On the south side of the river lays the original empire town of Halden, with beautiful and well kept buildings from the empire age. You can stroll on charming cobblestone streets throughout the city, and easily cross "Tista" via three different bridges, one for walking only. Must see in Halden is Fredriksten, which is the fortress, The Southside, which is the empire town and also the boardwalk and the Dock is o the Soutside. In addition, Damhaugen is aanother charming neighborhood with homes from the early working class. Halden is Norways oldest industrial city, and set up many types of working class homes.
