Decent burger. Table was wobbly. Ok for a quick meal.
Very nice place, good decoration, good food, nice staff.
Best burger I've had in Stavanger so far, though I have not yet visited the shack or døgnvill. The only reason I'm not giving this fine establishment 5 stars is my experience with burgers from Stockholm and the states. I am something of a burger aficionado and the burgers are not on par with the best I've had there. However I am very pleased such a great burger has found its way to Stavanger, it has dreadfully needed one. Price wise it's not bad for being in Norway.
Best burger I've had in Stavanger. The diner atmosphere is a nice touch as well. We'll be back!
Is not the best BURGUER place around the city but is OK . Of course better than knew fast food restaurant
Small but cosy place to eat some great burgers! Nice staff, wide variety in the menu, the possibility to mix and match together with good prices made our visit very rewarding.
An all fifties concept in both interior and atmosphere with Jerry Lee Lewis and early Stones records on the jukebox. A smiling waiter serves classic colas. Yes! I had a King Creole burger, my friends ordered Big Hunks O’ Love , with regular-, and garlic fries. The burger are really excellent and so are the chips; crispy. Chef knows his business! And since the prices here are not skyrocketing, I´ll be Back! Soon. :-D
Good service, good food. Looved the chocolate milkshake! The place is quite small. The place has an Americana diner style to it, but a little over the top as one might expect from a place like this outside of the US.
We ordered take out, two burgers, french fries and chicken wings. The burgers had a lot of meat, but not so much taste, little salad inside the burgerslooks nice but was dissapointing. The french fries were saggy and wet, not crispy. The chicken wings were also saggy, and tasted a bit old.
We drove for 20 minutes, just so we could test it out for the first time! Not shure if I want to go back after this. 445,- kroner less in my pocket!😔
In the last year there has been a real hamburger trend in the area. In February 2017 it was time for a new restaurant opening in town: the diner called Groovy Burger & Dogs. It is located right on the city square (Torget) so I guess the location can’t get any better. When I walked in there it was like being teleported back to what I imagine diners used to look in the USA in the 1950’s and 1960’s (at last from what I have seen in Back to the future movies). There were checkered flooring, red leather bar stools and some tacky scenes of classical movies.
But the interior doesn’t really matter as long as the food is good! The menu was already on the table when I sat down and the waiter came to take my order soon after. They have burgers, hotdogs, ribs and fries on the menu and I decided to go for “A Big Hunk O’Love” – the burger with cheese, bacon, pickles, caramelized onion etc. I was also tempted to try out fries and decided to go for the sweet potato fries. It was a bit strange that the waiter didn’t ask how we wanted the burger fried and when it was served it seemed to be well done. But it didn’t really matter – the burger was excellent. The meat was juicy and I loved the sweetness of the caramelized onion on the burger. The fries were fresh and tasty – I seem to have a problem getting this right when I try to make it at home. They also have desserts on the menu including shakes but I did not get to test them out this time.
Groovy also have a license to serve alcohol and they had a few different kinds of beer on the menu and some sort of house wine.
I will definitely check out Groovy again soon. I would love to try out some of the other burger and a fries – and their desserts of course.
This is a good place to have a burger or a hotdog! I had a good service and the food is good. Get the rosemary fries yummm! Their milk shakes are sooooooooo good!
