Wonderful presentation about the crater and a beautiful walk through the nature around the crater. We really enjoyed it.
Interesting meteroite crater, with a guided tour in Norwegian and English. There's also a café, gift shop and playground for children.
Nice place, but charging for walking a trail and see the crater itself is veryun-Norwegian a guided tour is included though.
Interesting location and great tour given by knowledgeable guide from Oslo University.
560 million years ago a 15m meteroit hit earth and the traces can still be seen today at Gardnos. The tour starts with an explanation of geology and the impact of meteroits in general; quite an interesting lecture for those interested in Earth's history and science. We could even touch pieces of meteroits and different minerals created by the impact.
The tour then headed into the crater - hiking boots and weather proof clothing are recommended. Out guide explained several geological features, pointed out then dimensions of the crater and answered all our questions. Overall, the tour took 1,5 hours including the hike.
Thanks and keep up the good work!
Don't expect to see a clear crater. Most of it has eroded. But excellent introduction to geology. Guide included in ticket. Beautiful park for ~1 hour hike. Nice picnicking by the river. Small café, no sandwiches.
Where is the meteorite? Still a cool place to visit if you're driving by
Very amazing.
Enormous crater. You don't realize how big it is unless you go there.
Impressive nature. Not much around though and bit hard to find.
Beautifull area, but there is not much left of the crater.
