  Cafékontoret was my go-to place for the ten years I lived in "gamlebyen" ('ye old town). They've managed to balance the atmosphere between the area's traditional working class background and a place you can take your family for dinner. Gamlebyen is under renewal, while at the same time being somewhat under the shadow of the newer flashier areas being developed along the waterfront. The clientele in Cafékontoret is diverce, the food is tasty and the service is as good as you'll find in Norway (we're not that great to begin with). In short; Laid back atmosphere in the "real" Oslo.

  Cheap and good food some good dishes for vegetarians.
  Recomended the " laks burger"
  Norwegian saumon oven with vegetables oven potatoes and fresh backed bunn.
