We've have visited Norway many times and we never have been welcomed so unfriendly and rude. At the arrival, there was a very unfriendly woman named Lina, who disappeared as soon as possible. We made contact with a guy named Reidar, who we never got to see the whole time we spent in the cabin. Lina told us, he died a couple of month ago, what makes it very weird that we still receive Mails from him. All the necessary information we needed about the boat or the village we got from other guests and a guy named Kesters, who was very cool and friendly. The cabins are quite comfortable, but the freezer and the fridge were moulding heavily and we had to clean all the furniture ourselves before we could use it. During our time there we could watch Lina "cleaning" the other cabins bevore other guests arrived and after that we didn't wonder anymore about the cleanness: It took her not more than 20 minutes to clean a cabin. Really awkward! The only time i saw Lina smile was when i paid for the cabin. She had no idea what prize i arranged with Reidar via Mail. After i paid, i never heard a word of Lina again, no goodbye, no thank you, no come again, nothing. Never experienced such a behavior from a host in my whole life. The other guests we talked to were treated the same way. Lina will not see us as guests again.
Nice cabins close to the fjord. Also very close to the town center with shops & restaurants.
Beautiful well mantained cabins with a stuning view.
Very great location in stunning scenery. The cabins have everything you need, the hosts are very friendly and helpful. The surrounding is perfect for hiking. You just can walk out the door and enter the nature. For example hiking up the local mountain of Balestrand "Raudmelen" which is an easy hike of around 3h one way.
This group of 5 cabins has a fantastic view of the fjord and surrounding mountains. It's on the smaller fjord surrounding Balestrand, which means that it's a little more sheltered from wind. The cabins share a large dock with several small motor boats available to guests. Each cabin has a lovely little porch to relax and enjoy the view, which we took advantage of on the warmer days. Inside the cabin there are 2 bedrooms, but it was a little tight for 4 adults, 2 toddlers. The setup is very efficient and we quickly adapted. The cabin was very clean and well updated. The kitchen appliances were very new and the bathroom had heated floors - great for those chilly Norwegian nights! Reidar, the proprietor, was very nice and helpful. Also check out the bakery in the aquarium for some excellent treats!
