Few vegetarian opetions and in general quality of the food was not really in line with what they charge. Centrally located and an OK setting with large open space but honestly wouldn't recommend this restaurant

Had to wait 20 minutes for the girls to take my order. After calling them several times. They didnt, so I left the place still hungry

Stylish place, formerly the oldest department store in the Netherlands. The terrace in summer is crowded, with lots of smokers. So if you want fresh air, sit inside.

Horrible wines and horrible service. The waitresses and waiters act like they don't see you. Zero motivation!

Always nice for something to drink or eat. Top service as always, better then you usually find in the Netherlands. Nice position both of you sit in the front on the stairs or inside on the sofas or in the backyard or at the first floor overlooking the canal.

This is a nice place to go for a tapas-style diner or a late evening drink. De Winkel van Sinkel is located in the Utrecht city centre at the Oudegracht. At about 10PM, the diner tables and chairs are removed and it's dancing time! I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Look out for the special 80's night or Latin Lovers Wednesdays!

Incredibly rude waiter. Spend your money elsewhere.

Another customer accidentally tipped over a table and a few broken glasses were scattered on the ground.

When it was time for me to pay, this was my conversation with the waiter in red:

Me: "Is someone going to take care of the broken glass, as some people have walked through it?"

The waiter: "I don't know," as he charged our card.

Me: "Aren't you worried someone might hurt themselves?"

Him: "I'm too busy right now."

    Me: "That's pretty terrible service."

Him: "Thank you for your compliment. Good bye."

Shame on this waiter and this establishment for thinking such behavior is acceptable.

The inside and outside of the building are stunning, but staff is somewhat unfriendly and slow. Prices are a tad high, but overall a nice place to sit and talk.

Decent venue for company drinks, but be sure to make a reservation for one of two bars adjacent to the restaurant. The restaurant itself is in a strange dining hall with very a high ceiling (historically, this was a large department store).

A unique and historic building, especially noticable in the dining hall and going to the basement to visit the restroom.

In all, despite somewhat uninspired cuisine and uninterested staff, a decent restaurant and bar.

Lunch food is uninspiring at best and relies heavily on large chunks of bread. The oriental platter had olives (?), lots of salad and a few bits of meat and shellfish.
