This 'Dutch mountain' is definetely worth a visit. The forest part on the north side is part of the 'Oranje Nassau oort' and is a private owned forest opened for the public. Wildlife is limited but deer and fox are present. The south side of the hill is overlooking the lexxesveer ferry and 'Uiterwaarde' being a special restored riverside nature area. The view is unique. The hill is part of the Utrechtse heuvelrug which is a natural formation of the land from the ice age. A huge sized gletsjer, from around 200 meter high ice, pushed the landscape up, bringing stones in its path all the way from Scandanavia. When the ice melted the land released from the weight also rose up, making it even higher.
