Excellent staff and excellent prices. The location is well out of the city but they offer an early morning as well as late night shuttle so you miss out on nothing

Best Hostel stay ever. If you like meeting new people and making friends. This is the place to be in the world. LEGIT. It's really laid back atmosphere. Staff members are super friendly. I would just come to Netherlands just to hangout here.

One of the best hostels I've ever been to! The team who works there are amazing! Every day of the week they have a different event, and the hostel is definitely the best place to be in at night in the city! I'll only visit noordwijik again so I can visit this hostel again!

The Flying Pig was hands down the best experience I've had with any hostel. 3 of my friends and I booked the hostel with no expectations but the ambiance and the friendly staff made it a great time. It's a ways off from Amsterdam but I recommend staying here for a night or two to experience life outside the city. We stayed in May so there wasn't much to do around the hostel, yet the nightlife within the hostel was all that was needed for a great time. The rooms and bathrooms were nothing special but weren't disgusting either. Like I said before, this hostel was the best because of its staff and relaxing atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

On my last day of my 4 day stay at this hostel, at 5 a.m a hostel employee brought a local girl into the 6 bed dorm I was staying in. They climbed into one of the empty beds on the top bunk and started having sex. The girl on the bunk underneath them was on her first night in the hostel. They continued until they realized their noise woke me up. Afterwards I moved to the downtown hostel and the uptown hostel which were really great. The uptown and downtown hostels also had much better free breakfasts.

Not the most modern hostel, but a lovely place.
Please note that this hostel is rather far from Amsterdam even though it's listed as an Amsterdam hostel on some platforms!

Flying pig beach hostel
We drove over to the hostel from the U.K. (Liverpool) and parked in a nearby leisure centre and the place was pretty safe to park!
We arrived to the warmest of welcomes from people of every corner of the earth. We were given the lowdown of the place with a little €2 deposit on the form Key card, Everywhere in the hostel is pretty secure and no one will bother you if you don't want to socialise.
There's a nice shuttle bus that's only €4 each way perfect way of getting into Amsterdam.
I'd rather stay at this place than a 5 star hotel! You get a 5star service and experience for as little as €8! The staff. now the staff were by far the best part of the hostel everyone is super friendly, only wish I learnt all their names! They make the beach hostel what it is!
All the facilities are cleaned frequently and all the dorms are kept really clean! You cannot fault this place one bit!
This place may be cheap but by no means does it slack on service or quality! I can't wait to come back!!!!response / report this review -

The Flying Pig Beach Hostel is a great choice if you're traveling on a budget. The location is excellent for getting to the beach and public transportation. There is a grocery store nearby, and the staff can direct you to it. The staff were very friendly during my visit. The Hostel offers a very reasonably priced van trip to Amsterdam with hours four to and from the hostel listed in the lobby. I gave a 4/5 review because the van was very shaky which did not mix well with my own motion sickness. That said, I recommend staying here if you are traveling on a budget and want to see another side of The Netherlands. There are several restaurants along the beach that are worth visiting as well!

The Flying Pig Beach Hostel is easily the best place I have ever stayed in. The hostel is always clean and has a very comfortable and fun atmosphere. It is super close to a gorgeous beach and even when I came back in the winter I loved to walk around in the sand. At night most people hang out at the bar. The drinks are well priced and the music is always good. What really made this hostel so amazing, though, is the staff. They are very friendly and made me feel welcome the second I walked in. They are always helpful and will even go out of their way to make sure you are settled in and have a good time. Staying here was an awesome experience and I would highly recommend it for anyone travelling in Amsterdam.

All the staff I interacted with were enthusiastic, helpful, welcoming, and fun. The space is nice. Small and beach themed. I stayed in a 6 bed dorm. The bed was comfy and clean. Definitely geared at young people. The bar and smoking room are heavily used in the evening, and that area stays pretty loud/active well into the night, but I didn't have trouble sleeping upstairs in my room. The town was posh and quiet -- a slightly odd location for the youth hostel. But the rates were good and the shuttle they provide into Amsterdam and back was convenient. (Make sure to reserve a space early if you want to use the shuttle because they do fill up!)
