Symposium 2016 ´The Meaning of Life´
The 11th of May 2016 organizes the Symposiumcommittee of B.V.W. ´Biologica´ a symposium with the theme: ‘The Meaning of Life’.
During this symposium there will be diverse subjects discussed, from a biological point of view, about the boundaries between life and death. Alan W. Schwartz of Radboud University Nijmegen will talk about the processes that are necessary for the formation of life out of lifeless matter. Bas Zwaan of Wageningen University will tell us about the aspects of lifetime, aging and longevity. And Mike McGrew of the Roslin Insitute Edinburgh will present his research about manipulating avian germ cells, with the aim to preserve and eventually revive threatened bird species. After the symposium there is an opportunity to discuss the topics further with the guest-speakers at a drink!
Tickets are available at www.symposium-biologica, €4,- for B.V.W. ‘Biologica’ members and €5,- for non-members. So bring your friends, because everyone is welcome!
