For the place and the price, I was expecting a little of a better breakfast. But other than that, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the hostel is extremely well situated and worth the stay. 9/10 would go again
Nice room, nice location, and prices better than average. Staff very helpful for all my questions.
I booked an stay with them from Nov 19th through Nov. 25. 2017. I lost my passport on my way to Amsterdam so I couldn't make it to the hostel. I called them, and a at first (a very rude representative) told me she couldn't find my reservation, so asked me to send an email. Then I sent them an e-mail explaining the situation. I even offered them a copy of the police report. They replied saying we are sorry about what happened but there won't be any refund. I think this is very unprofessional and shows insensitivity. I understand they wouldn't refund the first night, but they should definitely do it for the rest of the stay. I had booked a different hostel in Belgium and they refunded me, the bike and boat tours I had booked in Amsterdam were also very nice and refunded the money. I just want to say that I can't imagine if this is how they behave in a sensitive situation like this, what kind of treatment they give to their customers. I would never recommend this hostel to anybody and will never book with them again if I had the chance.
I was in October - November in Amsterdam. I was looking for a cheap and still good accommodation. I was served here. The sleep comfort was okay, but a tension sheet would be appropriate. The showers were quickly warm, as at home. I had breakfast at the youth hostel. There was an all you can buffet for 6.50 euros. The biggest drawback, though, was that it was built on and in the hostel. It started at half past eight in the morning. You could have started a little later. But you would not be pointed out. All in one but a successful holidayy.
This place was great! Stayed for 3 nights and couldn't find the entrance to the bar because entrance was not lit up and reception never informed me of it but once I found it I loved it. The bartenders Koen and Debbie were the absolute best part of my stay. They were helpful and always kind. The bar had cheap drinks with a half off Happy Hour. The receptionist was extremely kind and helpful, even under pressure. 10/10 would recommend this place. I am always going to stay at Stayokay!
Very modern lobby. The rooms are split between 3 buildings; all of which were very well maintained. Beds were comfy enough and the bar downstairs was good.
Helpful staff. Nice bar with different themes every night. We really liked Mexico/taco night where you could get tequila shots & nachos for a cheap price. Really good breakfast that was vegan friendly.
The staff was always very friendly and helpful, even under high pressure. The breakfast was fair, but we missed the eggs ;) but coffee is always available for free. everything is easy and simple, just Perfect for a bunch of dudes who only need a place to sleep and rest. Totally best location!
One of the Best Hostel to stay in Amsterdam!! Comfortable & spacious rooms with all the basic amenities & high speed Wifi. Staff is helping. They provide very delicious morning breakfast. They also have Pool table & bar.
Also.as its location is very good for tourists as a lot of places are on walking distance. And Vondelpark is just beside it so you can always hang out there. Amazing place.
The hostel is located right next to Vondelpark, just 2 minutes walk from Leidseplein, and is close to all the major museums. The rooms are large and the bed was solid enough so that it didn't squeak. There were 2 toilets and 2 showers between 10 beds and this seemed to work fine. Staff were friendly and a lot of itemes were for sale in case something is forgotten. WiFi was free and simple to access. Overall a good value for money stay in the heart of Amsterdam.
Just terrible.
I'm a easy going person and no matter where I am stay. But for €55 a night I would expect much more.
One of my roommate spent £20 with breakfast included.
I had nothing included and when I arrived they gave me a non mixed room and perhaps the ed wasn't ready but dirty so they gave me sheets etc and I ha to do the bed my myself.
I watched surprise them and since I left I haven't heard a "sorry" or something.
With all these I paid €55 plus €15 for breakfast who my roommate paid €6 included in €20 total.after that I paid for a towel which is okay but after all these I expected a different treatment.
So I got the towel when I realised it was big like my d**ck.why do they call towel when they sould call it d**ck towel?
Anyway I booked 3 weeks before coming I understand it could be short time but this place can't go further than 20/30€ a night.
We have 1 bad shower to share in 8 and the room smells bad
a very expensive place in a great location. but, very very small 4 bed dorms and full of kids. It is not the best if you are travelling alone because the bar is generall very quiet - thanks to the kids. the common area is very lively and loud though - thanks to the kids again. Also, first hostel i've been to which does not have a basic kitchen where guests can heat/cook their own meal - not even a toaster or fridge.
Young (but kind and responsible) guests, very accommodating service, our room on the top floor had a beautiful view. Better than a hotel as I was able to make friends people in neighboring bunks!
Placement is great, around the museums and the beautiful park. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. No complaints.
