Really fascinating. Beautiful exhibition of Japanese maps when I visited, some from the 1700s, and also a display of modern lacquer work and the process involved in its creating. Interesting resident exhibition too with some little gems. The house has its own unique charm. Very reasonably priced entry and a good gift shop too.

It has a very interesting permanent collection and nice seasonal exhibitions. The museum itself used to be a house, so it is a little on the smaller side, but it does give a nice feel to the place.

Nice museum. The artist of the current exhibution was there too when I visited. It was pretty nice to be able to talk to her.

The museum of Siebold actually contains an interesting collection of far east objects, but the collection is small and the descriptions and explanations are lacky from time to time. The exhibitions on the first floor are most of the time more worth it. But is the total offer of the museum worth it? In my honest opinion it isn't. 3/5

A rather small museum, but the atmosphere and collection most certainly makes up for it

A small museum with a lot of interesting articles of Japanese culture during the period when they shut them selves out from the rest of the world. Only downside is the fact it is so small
