At almost every International airport an organization exists which takes care of the common interests of the airlines operating regularly at that airport. Such organization, in line with IATA recommendations, is called an Airline Operators Committee (AOC).
At Amsterdam Schiphol Airport this organization is known as the Schiphol Airline Operators Committee, in short SAOC.
Presently 47 airlines are member of the SAOC. Handling agents and airline related companies might become associated member. At the moment the SAOC counts also 16 associated members.
Main activities of SAOC are:
• Meet, discuss and negotiate with the Governmental Authorities and Senior management and sub level of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol on strategic, tactical and operational level, regarding: Operations, Infrastructure, Services and Facilities, including Airport Charges and Service Level Agreements. We focus on Safety, Security, Operating, Operation costs and Quality.
• Being a project member together with the Airport Authorities, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and handling companies regarding airport extensions and improvements (i.e. the One-XS project).
• Consultations with Civil Aviation Authorities about interpretation of procedures, plans and the operational and financial consequences of their services and facilities.
• Take part in discussions with amongst others the Ministry of Transport (IenM), Justice, the ACM, Immigration and Customs on subjects such as: evaluation aviation act, security, safety, border control, staff welfare, costs etc.
• Consult and inform all members about all relevant issues.
• Provide opportunities for dialogue, education, progress, information, mediation and improvement through, amongst others, strategic meetings, board meetings, social gatherings, ad-hoc meetings, newsletters and via our website: www.saoc.nl
SAOC Secretariat
The SAOC is registered as an association in the Chamber of Commerce, Amsterdam, Netherlands (No. 40596781, 27 March 1990 in the name Schiphol Airline Operators Committee (S.A.O.C) (Association SAOC).
