Had evening meal here on the set menu, which they were able to vary to accommodate vegetarians. Interesting venue with historical connection as a setting off point for Dutch people leaving for America after the destruction of Rotterdam during the war. Good range of beers.

Excellent hotel, at one of the most beautiful spots in Rotterdam. We stayed at one of the tower rooms, which are a big recommendation. The view is perfect, the atmosphere is amazing and the whole hotel/restaurant is a perfect blend of old and new. Dinner and breakfast were both very good and my compliments to the staff, whom are nice, responsive and attending. If you want to go back to nostalgia and be taken care of, Hotel New York is your hotel in Rotterdam.

Restaurant review only: Good food (but 2 dishes slightly too salty), good service. Great atmosphere. Kid friendly too, as well as wheel chair friendly.

We initially had problems getting a table outside (lots of empty tables waiting to be cleared while many customers told to wait) so went to the cafe inside. Beautiful interiors, superb fish and cakes displays. We hadn't reserved for the afternoon tea (those customers sit in a special area) so had the chef's plates from the lunch menu. All the food was delicious. Our waitress, Sabine, was extremely friendly and helpful, with a big smile for all the customers. This was a wonderful cafe.

Love the interior, still has that special atmosphere 'of the olden days'. Usually well-visited, so make reservations in advance, and service sometimes takes a bit of time. Menu is mostly fish-oriented. Nice scenic location. Barbershop downstairs still shaves the old-fashioned way.

Good and fast service. A wide menu, with an extra really good gluten free menu. Food tasted incredible and near the windows you have an astonishing view. The interior feels like a blast from the past, mixed with modern elements.

Historical location and a historical building. Thousands of Europeans left their homes for a future in the new world called America and the last foot on European soil was not just Rotterdam but this spot was what is now hotel New-York. The building and every room has that smell, sense and feeling of that time and those people ready to start the future in their new lives in the new world. Very special to stay the night in one of these rooms. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very good.

Don't know if it's my memory, but I used to like this restaurant better. They've got lots of wines, but the good ones can only be purchased per bottle.
Also they've taken some of the good dishes off the menu.
The sphere and service are still good as always, though prices are on the high side, compared to the quality of the food. The food is good, but it's not organic or exquisite. Hence my argument about the prices.

    Beautiful surroundings. Great service.

Food was really not so good. We had a burger and grilled sardines. The sardines weren't very flavorful, couscous dry. Don't take the burger. It was dry and tasted like a patty from a package.

I was going to give 3 but I feel the food is too important.

We had a 2 day company event here with the management team. Great location, good restaurant, nice food and enjoyable terras outside, especially when the weather is nice you are sitting pleasantly there with a wine or beer overlooking the skyline and ships coming by.

We stayed in the hotel for the first time, nice historic place, great beds and convenient rooms. Staff is friendly and courteous. There is really not much to complain, when staying here, you really feel at home and have the feeling to be part of the great history of this building and its location. This is the premier spot in Rotterdam.

I came a first time on Sunday with no luck. Reserved online and bad the chance to enjoy a good lunch. Pity that we couldn't sit outside because it was full. Beter luck next time.

I truly love this hotel. The service is excellent, very enjoyable stay, the best beds I have ever slept in. The location of the hotel is just so lovely as well. You can reach it by water taxi as well. The additional packages are a true treat. I am looking forward to staying there again.

Most people visit Hotel New York, NOT to stay overnight. Yes, it is a hotel, but it also is a great place for a drink, a snack, a meal etc. This place has a great history and they're proud of it. When the wheather is nice you can also sit on their terrace or lay down in one of their "beach chairs" on the grass. The view of the Rotterdam skyline is great. You can reach it by metro (subway, underground) quite easily.
