I'd been having a problem with my Wi-fi network for months, and neither my ISP nor any other helpdesk would help me solve it. After a couple of calls, the people at this store were able to isolate the problem and offered a solution that didn't cost me any money and didn't even require me to visit the store! Thanks folks!
THey have a nice selection of hardware and the stuff knows about what they are selling, I gave it 3 stars because they are EXPENSIVE.
if you checked their website and other hardware stores or amazon for the same thing that you're looking for, you will find mycom selling it for 20%~40% more.
for example I was aiming to buy TP-link TL-WA860RE range extender, as for the time I'm writing this review now, mycom is selling it for 32 euros.
searching for it in mediamarket resulted 28 euros, and amazon.de is for 22.5 euros.
I like the store, but I won't buy anything except if I'm forced to do (as with the raspberrypi board, which I can't find else where in utrecht).
advice to mycom: fix your prices and get more customers.
Was very wary of visiting after reading the other reviews, but had a lovely experience at MyCom. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, also providing complimentary coffee. Fixed the problem with no trouble. It seems that standards have improved massively since the other reviews were written.
Good selection of computer hardware. The knowledge of the staff about their products needs improvement.
The repair station is absolutely useless and they will exploit you for money. I paid 30 EUR to have my laptop diagnosed, and they took over two weeks to announce that they did not look at it diagnostically and that it is probably "old age" and they recommend I buy a new laptop from them. They are incompetent, do not speak honestly to customers, but the most interesting I found was that their professional opinion is non-existant.
Also, they wanted to charge me 20 EUR for loading my hard drive into an enclusure. The enclosure that they sold me (for another 20 EUR) was second hand and previously opened, poorly re-sealed and used before. This is a very sinister way to run business.
