Plenty of choices for a pancake but they do sandwiches etc as well. Nice service and quick and certainly not expensive.

Service is standard Dutch. If you're used to American or southern hospitality, that's not here nor anywhere. However, food is just ok. Great choice if in the neighborhood, but not worth a mention for the folks at home.

Don't let any initial curt attitude deter you. This family run cafe gets super busy, and if the owner(s) snap at you to take a seat, it's not deliberate. They are trying to get you seated and happy so they can serve you. Afterward, they take all the time to make sure you are happy with your order, check in on you, etc. Etc. At one point, it started raining and they immediately ushered the family next door inside. After it stopped, they wiped down everything.

Fruit shakes were super fresh and tasty, and I was blown away by my sandwich. The open face was piled high with meat, vegetables and sauce, all in a very organized mix that looked absolutely scrumptious. I don't really like sandwiches, but this was so articulately laid out, that it looked like an exceptional gourmet dish. The taste was fabulous too. What a great way to end my trip in Amsterdam while watching traffic pass by. If I wasn't in a rush, I'm sure I would have eaten more, maybe even enjoyed a coffee or wine.
