  Hey! Did two weeks of holidays here in one of these blue houses. They are enough large for six persons and our one was modern (but they don't have all the same set up). Nice view and fast Wlan.
  
  We thought we could swim in front of our house but the water quality was really bad. brownish water, you were not able to see wider than 20 cm underwater and sometimes it smelt like manure! Just ugly. If you want to swim you must go to Schiermonnikog or Ameland, ways better.
  
  It was often windy and around 18-20 degrees (july/august).
  
  microvave and toaster but no oven in the kitchen. (our appartment, I don't know the situation in others).
  Coop in Anjum (near, 2 km) which offers almost everything you need in holidays.
  
  bikes for rent (fietshuur) in Landal Esonstad (500m)
  and a small shop.
  
  lots of germans there.
  
  note: the boats tour on Lauwersmeer is only commented in Dutch.
