The Space
The mobile home was originally meant for our family from abroad but never used for that purpose. The size is 3,10 x 9 metres and consists of a living room connected with the kitchen, a small bathroom and a bedroom with a 1,90 x 1,44 metres size bed, with of course freshly washed sheets. The home is not luxurious, but cosy with a modern, light interior, neat and clean and equipped with all basis needs such as ( electric) heating in the living room and a complete kitchen. For a wifi connection you are invited to come to our house. For the first days we will provide bread, muesli, eggs, tea and coffee, etc., so you can prepare your own breakfast. The home is ideal for couples that like to explore Holland's culture and nature.
Guest Access
The home is all yours and situated very privately at the rear of the premises where we live as well. Surrounding the mobile home is a vast garden containing many interesting species of trees and different plants and flowers. Cattle and horses graze from May in the surrounding meadows. Different species of geese are present almost all the year round and in the season lapwings, godwits and even sometimes foraging storks can be spotted. If you leave the window open you will be awakened by birds singing. The many meadows are all separated by typical ditches. Several junctions of the national cycling network are only a few 100 metres distance. Free bicycles are at your disposal. Many maps with routes are present for you in the home. We can inform you about the many possibilities worth visiting in the region.

We - Caroline and husband Wim - are more or less retired and will gladly help you with any questions you may have. Born and raised in the area with a strong interest in history, nature and culture, we can inform you about the many interesting sites to visit close by and further ahead. We like and are used to communicate with people from other countries.
Wir sprechen auch Deutsch.
Nous parlons aussi - assez - Francais.
Y un poco Espagnol.
The Neighborhood
The premises are located right on the border of the outer country site of the town of Hillegom ( prov. South Holland) and the more suburban area of Bennebroek/Bloemendaal ( prov. North Holland). Here many old mansions of former Amsterdam merchants can be found. The lane we live on is quiet and you will be about a 100 metres away from it. It is ideal for people that like a quiet retreat. Although it is a quiet spot we live on, it is at the same time the heart of Holland with so may things to visit. In fact we are located on a perfect spot when you want to explore the cities, countryside, dune reserve and beach. We are in easy reach of many major towns. There are many famous museums and cultural sites worth visiting there. Haarlem and also Schiphol Amsterdam airport are only 15 minutes by car. Amsterdam and Leiden as well as the North Sea beach towns Noordwijk and Zandvoort only 20 minutes. A supermarket with a very wide range of articles is close by.
The famous bulb fields start just a few miles from our home and if you are here in spring take the opportunity to visit the world famous Keukenhof gardens ( 20 minutes by car or 40 minutes by bicycle). If you like nature we advise you to visit the vast nearby dune reservation area ( Amsterdamse Waterleidingduinen), where you can walk for hours in the very typical dune landscape. If you are really fit you could even walk as far as the North Sea.
In the home we mention a few of our favourite restaurants. Very close is a good sushi - all you can eat - restaurant with very modest prices. We will be happy to advise you.

Holland is extremely suitable for making cycling tours. Most Dutch people have bikes that they use regularly on the very many special cycle tracks. To come from and go to Schiphol Airport, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) for Tinker Taxi service, select your language and reserve before you fly. They are relatively cheap. Or ask us if we can pick you up.
