Great; but not the 5th star for a reason: I believe you should consider some cleaning standards, too Dutch in my opinion (we Spanish and NH Hotels is Spanish, we trend to be a bit more fussy with cleaning)
1. The carpet in the room has a couple of big dirty stain not giving the best impression.
2. Shower towels where all three together on the top of the hanger of the towels in the showeroom. Great. But in that towels hanger and under the last of the towels was also hanging the plastic shower carpet which is used to shoot on the floor of the bath, so ususally the place for feet, not giving the best impressión (or I may be too picky?)
3. Place between the two mattress of the bed needs a vacuum cleaner now and them.
Strange; cleaning staff was friendly so I have no complain. I guess is just a question of cultures
4. Sheets were too short and after laying in bed they were getting out of the mattress which was also missing a cover. Sheets one side bigger would solve the issue.
For the rest, reception very kind they help us when missing back one of the phone chargers found by the cleaning lady (thanks) and location and the forest is amazing!!
Next time when going without kids, the restaurant of the ''castle'' looks promising.response / report this review -

Very quaint hotel, nice location. Breakfast was awesome, so many options and great service. We rented bikes and rode in the dunes to the sea, although directions to the dunes from Clerk were not to clear, we eventually found our way! The only negative thing I can say, is that the overall cleanliness of the room was not the best, carpets were not vacuumed. There was also a weird high pitched whining sound at night, we think may have been from pipes for hot water??

The location is very beautiful, especially to catch a Moltres. We were with 15 men and I caught it also for somebody else. So I caught Moltres twice and I am very happy with that.

Had a wedding event at Marquette. Unfortunately the beer was not cold enough and the glasses not full. Pretty bad for such an event and location.

Booked it online and the photos were definitely over-selling. It is decent, however. Friendly staff. The hotel would need a refurbishment, but the castle is absolutely fantastic. The simple drive in the hotel is very nice. Very peaceful and quiet. For those who are going to visit Amsterdam by car, it's less then 30mins.

Well located and quiet hotel with sizeable regular rooms, although somewhat hard to find for the first time - the rooms are not in the Castle! Closely situated to the Heemskerk City Centre and only a few minutes away from the main road connecting Castricum, Heemskerk and Beverwijk. Excellent place to stay the night when visiting family and friends or for holidays. Sober but fully functional decor. Helpful and kind staff.
