Description
The Summer Programmes Office at the Graduate School of Social Sciences in Amsterdam offers a variety of intensive and interdisciplinary summer courses and tailor-made programmes (in cooperation with host universities abroad). All of our programmes are taught in English.
With over 20 years experience in programme development, the Summer Programmes Office offers high quality short-term study abroad programmes at a reasonable cost. With insiders' knowledge of the city of Amsterdam and an impressive list of international guest speakers and faculty, we have developed programmes that combine our authentic Amsterdam lens with our rapidly changing globalized world.

This summer, 30 people from across the world gathered at the UvA and with Metabolic to learn about the principles of the Circular City. From the economy and urban planning, to festivals and re-naturing cities, participants dove into the topic head first. The final group to join us this summer is the Pre University Honours Programme on Politics and Identity. Today, Luuc Brans toured them through Amsterdam’s historic centre with a cultural and political twist. Calling all Amsterdammers, both permanent and temporary!
Come celebrate the end of The Everyday City and Beyond programme and the finish line for the students' ''RapidLab" on July 27 from 16:30 - 18:30 at Akhnaton (Nieuwezijds Kolk 25).
Our fab TEC students will present their research, vision and strategy for the sidewalks of this classic inner-city street and tongue twister: the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal. All of our summer programme students, staff, guest lecturers are welcome to join us for drinks, bites, and insights into the city!
Students are tasked with re-imagining the street and maximizing its potential along with the Municipality of Amsterdam.
