Easy to reach, quick security check, short distances from car park to planes. Unfortunately, Flybe recently started allowing only very tiny cabin bags, resulting in a hefty extra cost to check in bags that they used to accept just fine.

Excellent! With new flight connection to Copenhagen, I reached Stockholm in 3h 15min. I saved 6 hours in total in comparison to the time I needed usually before. This opens new possibilities for the North of the Netherlands. From Copenhagen, you reach destinations in Northern&Eastern Europe, the US, Asia very easily as time flight is shorter. Another hub-connection to reach the south would of course be perfect..:-)

Fast check in, boarding and luggage retrieval.
The security is very tough and robotic, a friend was not allowed to take less than 100 mL of perfume because the flask was outside of the plastic bag.response / report this review -

Extremely helpful and friendly staff, very relaxing atmosphere in the middle of cows and fields. BUT: My flight to London with flybe was cancelled short of notice. Passengers on the airport were not informed via notice boards about the cancellation. There was just a blank spot where the time of arrival of the inbound flight should have been and the gate for departure likewise.This reminded me of horror scenarios of plane crashes and relatives waiting in vain for their loved ones and we were only told that the flight was cancelled because of technical problems. Only later did I find out that the flight from London had been cancelled as well. On the way back home I hit my ankle severely with one of my trolley wheels because carpark number 3 is covered with gravel! In conclusion: I wanted to travel to London and further but am now at home with a swollen foot and more or less housebound. ROMANTIC AIRPORT BUT USELESS!!!

Direct flight from Southend. Small, clean and never a problem getting through. Also direct bus to town centre for €3.

Small airport, you don't have to wait long for your hold luggage, it literally rolls off the belt after your walk from the plane to the terminal. Restaurant is pricey, check in goes nice an smooth. There is not much to do after the security apart from one very small shop and toilet facilities. WiFi is available but very small. 2 gates in total. From the plane out of the building can take less than 10 minutes due to efficient security (2 desks) going out of the airport. In all, the airport is a bit dated and needs some modernisation but this airport is a necessity for commuters from (and to) the north of the Netherlands .
