  Very good food and service. They have outside seating, and the interior is very cosy with a nice atmosphere. Wine selection is also very good, and they have some Dutch wines, as well.

  A great place for dinner and drinks. There was a 1.5 hour wait to sit outside but we found a table straight away inside. The horse meat was delicious. Very friendly staff too

  Very friendly staff. No reservations, but it quite popular, so expect to wait for a table at peak times. Food good and not too expensive

  Cafe Sjiek creates an I formal, neighborhood feel while not sacrificing quality to do it. The best option in Maastricht to try some signature Limburg dishes.

  This is a very cosy restaurant. It looks like a tapas bar with people standing and enjoying wine or beer. And maybe this is the best way to enjoy the place because of the insanely long waiting times. If you manage to sit and order some food, take into account that you will wait and wait for the food to arrive.
  
  The food is actually good. And I keep going back to this place because I like its atmosphere. Again, the best way to enjoy it's to find a nice corner to enjoy a cheese/salami platter and a good glass of wine.

  Local limburgese food served at reasonable prices. Had the famous zuurvlees (with real horse meat inside). Basically eaten with apple crumble sauce, tartar sauce and chips. Tasted sweet and sour (more sour at first) and took a while to get used to, but it got tastier! Service was excellent too.

  Honestly this was the best food I've eaten since I left Melbourne (Australia) 6 months ago but one thing was even better than Melbourne restaurants, they don't take the piss and try to charge through the roof for the food. If I lived in Maastricht this would be my go to restaurant for all special dinner occasions and I'd probably try get them to cater for my wedding. Thank you Sjieke crew.

  What a great surprise. Local food is well prepared in this lovely and warm small Cafe. Staff is very helpful and kind. They welcome with open heart. We tried a deer and horse meat : it was fantastic +handmade chips and sauces. Good wine and beer selection as well
