Excellent location, but the waiters have very poor training. We ordered a soup for starter and a main course. Our waitress brought us the main course first that we did not accept because our started should have arrived first. She brought back the main course to the kitchen and came back with the soup 15 mins later. Then we waited an awful lot for our main course. We ordered a hamburger with onion rings, but the onion rings were missing. Besides that, our son found a piece of plastic baked into the hamburger. We sent it back immediately. In the meantime the waitress scalded a customer at the one of the tables with hot water.
It's obvious that this restaurant employs university graduates without proper training and this is just so plain obvious in the level of service and the quality of the dishes. I am truly sad to see that such a beautiful restaurant has such a poor service due to lack of training.response / report this review -

Nice seating, on the bank of the river, pretty crowded at night. The wine is not its forte, but beer is.

It's a good place to be, the best one probably if it is sunny in Leiden but it is expensive (that's why only 4 stars, it's my only complain).
Friendly personnel, a bit overwhelmed at times when it is really busy, but I never had any problem, plus they seem to improve their organisation. All in all, if you wanna enjoy the sun in one of the best spots in Leiden come here, but it's going to be a bit more expensive than the rest of the places nearby.response / report this review -

Sat down outside and waited 10 minutes as waiters passed by, not casting an eye in my direction even once (and no, I was not staring at my phone, I was looking at them as they passed). I left. Sad thing is, that was only the first of two experiences like that which I experienced that day in Leiden. Dear Dutch waiters, you owe it to your customers to be attentive. Friendly is a bonus, but I'll settle for attentive. Being served shouldn't depend on me being assertive.

Sat by the water on a sunny day. The location is great, you have nice views of the boats passing by. The service was very good and the food was also good but a bit to pricey in my opinion.

This place peaked my interest from the start. You sit along the canal or inside the coolest area! The lighting was great the food was delicious! Loved the atmosphere

Nice bar and it does a ginger and tonic night once a week. Nice inside and will be lovely outside on the summer. Staff very attentive, bathrooms very clean, has a nice section of gin. Prices are quite reasonable.

Such a nice and cozy place! Really worth visiting. I just drank a cup of tea here, but it's a perfect place to have dinner with friends or with your partner, since it is quite romantic.
