Worst placed to get your iPhone fixed.
When I handed in my phone they confirmed that it was still in the warranty period so they would either fix it or most likely I would just get a new phone. Didn't happen at all. They messed up my phone even more to the point I can't use it at all (there was a battery problem and I was able to use it 4/5 min. - now nothing seems to work anymore) and they even charged me for it.. Warranty didn't apply because they claimed it was modified by an unauthorised Apple Service Provider (NEVER HAPPEND FOR SURE!).
I've spend at least 5k here on MacBooks and accessories but you won't see me here again.
My MacBook 12" screen had to be repaired. Below is a detailed description of the terrible bad overall customer service level at Amac (compared to the service level at Apple Store)
1. Many times I could not reach the Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) by phone. I would call, however after waiting for > 10 min, the call would remain unanswered and it would automatically disconnect. I have tried many times, and only on rare occasions my phone call would be connected to Amac. 2 out of 10 times I reckon is the % my call would be connected.
2. Because I was not able to reach the AASP by phone, I personally visited the AASP. However at this AASP (Amac), I had to wait in line for at least 45 minutes to be helped. I have visited Amac (service department) several times and each time it was the same situation. On one occasion I made an appointment by phone for a visit at the service department at Amac (and expected to be serviced faster), however still the same situation: I had to wait in line behind the people who did not make an appointment. This is a very bad level of service, particularly compared to the service at Apple Stores.
One very noticeable problem was the number of people at the service department at Amac: only one person many times (sometimes 2). And the service person would both register the repair request, inspect the product, and analyse the problem. Resulting in at least 10-15 minutes of time per person, while the que was many times 6-7 people long, resulting in very long waiting lines (some people just left after becoming impatient).
The Amac has SIGNIFCANTLY more sales people than service people in the store. And many times those sales people were sitting idle as it was not busy in the store.
3. I was promised to receive a price quote regarding the repair within one week (calander days) after handing in my device, however I had to wait two weeks! After one week I even had to go to Amac to ask about the price quotation as I could not reach them by phone.
4. The total lead time took 4 weeks. This should be 2 weeks. During handing off the device, they told me it would take longer than normal (due to a physical move of the technical department); that it could take around 3 weeks, however I had to wait 4 weeks, which is too long!!
I am an experienced purchaser of Apple products. I own 2 Mac Books, 2 Mac Book Pro's, a Mac Book Air, several IPhones, and two IPads. I have visited the Apple Store in different countries (USA, Holland, China, Hong Kong) including the Genius Bar, and the service level at Amac is far below that at Apple Stores, particularly the repair service, and phone service.
The service problems at Amac are systematical, and not incidental, as I have visited them several times.
The above has a large negative impact on Apple's brand name and reputation. Not only for me but for many consumers.
I visited an AASP in Rotterdam, as there is not an Apple Store in Rotterdam. That is a strategic error imo. Rotterdam is the 2nd largest city in Holland. Even smaller sized cities have an Apple Store (such as Haarlem and The Hague).
My advice: clearly Amac is not capable of offering the level service as Apple is. The difference is too large and evidently beyond what is acceptable. Improving the Amac service level will be difficult, as they exist for many years already, and changing a corporate culture takes many years. Also, management at Amac are clearly not focusing and investing in (repair) service by looking at the staff allocated to that department. The only solution would be to open an Apple Store in Rotterdam. (And there are many large and good locations in the centre of Rotterdam for this to be made possible.)
Great service and quality products, I am very happy with my macbook to hdmi convertor. Thanks for the expertise.
Wanted to buy a iMac 27" customised (more ram,i7,Etc) and they told me the down payment should be 10% everything nice and dandy till I ask for a English keyboard, all of a sudden I had to pay 100%, grate job not trusting a old an loyal customer that left a few grand at yours.
So I think I will go to the official Apple Store, at lest I get my stuff quicker.
I've never had a problem with Amac, but it's not the best place to repair your macbook or phone. I bought my macbook there that's ok.
30 min queuing time in the repair service desk, not the workers fault tho as there was only two of them for a lot of customers. 2-3 weeks waiting time to get my macbook keyboard fixed they said. I went somewhere else, got it done in 24 hours. Way too much waiting time in general. Hire more people or smthn.
WUNDERSHONE SERVICE
Good and quick service.
Horrible customer experience, never go there if you can, they don't deserve at all to be a premium apple reseller as they only ruin the brand.
My Mac charger broke down but as I have Apple care went in so they replace it, the guy at the shop didn't even wanted to take it in (because of a small scratch that was clearly not the reason for the break down.even he said that) he said Apple won't replace it so I need to buy a new one. It turned out I need to wait 9-14 days to find out whether it is possible to replace it and when I asked whether they give me a replacement charger instead for that time he said no.and here comes the fun part: the iCenter at the central station took it in with no problem, gave me a replacement charger for free for the 1 week while the old charger was being fixed and I got a new replaced charger with no problem
