  Four of us were recommended by our hotel reception but we were disappointed with the salmon tortellini that was too salty and the rib of beef that was very fatty and stringy. We had expected better at these prices.

  Whilst dining alone. I was shown to a table and completely ignored for 15 mins so I got up and left, whilst the 3 tables around me where all trying to get a waiters attention. From what I saw coming out of the kitchen, the food looked good and I was there on recommendation. This place is well known for its dining experience. Not somewhere to go alone, unless you have a good book with you. Albeit the place was busy and it was a Friday evening. Next time I will go back to Ijkegebouw. At least they cater for the lone diner.

  14 maart 2017 Ooit ons favoriete restaurant heeft het voor de 2e keer laten afweten, brrrr De vorige keer was onze tijdig gereserveerde tafel niet beschikbaar. Nu dus weer niet 😡.
  Ik heb een week geleden een tafel gereserveerd voor twee, om onze trouwdag te vieren.
  En ja, ik stond bovenaan op de reserveringlijst. Maar nee, geen tafel voor ons 😡. Wel een in een klein, krap hoekje. Geen excuus, niets. Wij zijn deze keer boos weggegaan.
  Gelukkig zijn er meer en betrouwbare restaurants in Alkmaar.

  Without a doubt the best meal I have ever had. The steak was amazing but the cheesecake blew me away.
