We did the climbing of Telica volcano, with camping next to the crater. It was nice due to the members of the group and the nature. But we don't understand why we had paid 55$ each. We got:
- the guide, but impossible to speak with him because he doesn't speak English (and no one in the group was speaking Spanish correctly).
- the park entrance fee But there is no park actually, so it s normally free to climb it.
- the lift to go from the hostel, but no lift back to the hostel !! (and it s 20 min drive from Leon)
- the dinner was just a pack of cold burritos, tomatoes and peppers to cut, beans pasta The things were fastly bought , and drop on the floor for us to prepare our small cold burritos (2 per persons). The breakfast was American bread with honey and bananas (no coffee or tea). When we do it by ourselves, we take a heater to make coffee or teait s the minimum! It was crazy how poor it was!
- a tent for 2, and very bad thin mattress. (We had much better equipment with us!)

Definitely a splurge money wise but well worth it. So much more than just Volcano boarding. We had an awesome drive through the forest and then beautiful hike while learning about the geological features and history. Great fun guides and happy faces all around. They captured great photos of us and shared a beer after. Highly recommend!
