  I love the wings, I love the burgers. Great place to spend with your friends. Ask for the 48 pieces wings dish, it is perfect for a night of beers and wings with all your pals. It is also a place for a romantic dinner and for the families.

  Alas Bravas is probably the worst food that I have ever had in all of my time living in Nicaragua (10 years+). Burgers are like a slop patty with a terrible taste and texture. The fries are all cooked in a huge batch and then served as the orders come in, meaning they are cold and oily. Fish sticks are out of a box. TERRIBLE!

  No exaggeration: Worst take out experience of my life. Ripped off to my face. If you're not interested, I'll just give the facts about the food: avoid if you're visiting. The food is maybe a 2.5/5 which gets bumped to 3 or 4 since it's Matagalpa. It is decidedly not somewhere I would ever return to in the States, but it thumbs (not scratches) an ich if you're here for a while. So, it doesn't give real satisfaction but at least you're not ichy anymore. I've been twice and tried the wings and nachos. That's the basis of my food review. Here are the details of how they ripped me off to my face.
  
  I called in an order for 6 wings (12 pieces). I wanted buffalo wings. I asked if this size order came with two ranches. She said yes, and I asked to order a blue cheese on top of the two ranches that come with the order. Simple enough I thought.
  
  I get there, and the bill shows that they charged me for 2 blue cheeses and 1 ranch. Obviously they ripped me off a little, but I didn't say a thing. I'm not that guy. I get embarrassed when my wife sends something back. So, I'm willing to just get a little screwed. I check the wings to make sure they're buffalo. They are not. I tell her and she starts telling me what I ordered like I'm the one who's confused! I explain to her that I very clearly remember when I said I wanted them buffalo. She stands there blankly while I explain multiple times it's okay if they just put buffalo on it. She leaves and comes back with 50 cords less change than she owes me. That's about $1.73 USD. I ask her why and she says she had to charge me because I was confused. You want to know the real kicker? BUFFALO WINGS ARE NOT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN REGULAR WINGS!!!!!! I tell her this and she says multiple times that she had to charge me because I was confused. At this point, I mention the ranch charging and explain that buffalo wings cost the same as regular wings. It was honestly like trying to explain schadenfreude to a rabbit or something. She quite simply did not have the software capacity to think about it in that way. It was absolute ignorance almost beautiful in its purity.
  
  At this point, I could feel adrenaline flowing into my veins. I could have spit and it would have burned a hole through the floor. I was trembling inside. I thought that only my wife or family had the capacity to set off internal rage volcanoes like that. I'm extremely proud of myself that I did not swear or through the packets of dressing against the TVs sending white, fatty shrapnel all over the place. That day dream will serve me well for years to come.
  
  I ended up paying over 14 dollars for what should have been (an already over-priced) 9 dollar meal. You see from the receipt that I should have gotten 150 cords back from a 500 but I only got 100 cords back. She also never told me that she was going to charge me which added to the hate-anger.
  
  Again, the food is meh, but that's par for the course here. If you're passing through do not spend a penny on sub-quality 'Merican food you wouldn't patronize in the states. If you live here, you know the score probably.
  
  My brother has lived here for 4 years. As a graduate of UNLV's Hospitality Management program, he told me that my head was going to explode. I thought it was only him since he worked in the industry properly. I have been here for over a month and with the proper expectations, I have been pleased. Tonight, all that ended. Congratulations on making me angrier than anyone outside my family.
  
  If you are the owner, please use this as a case study with your employees on exactly what not to do. Good luck getting them to understand the concept. I'm in the process of getting you listed on TripAdvisor and can't wait to be your first review.

  This is one of the better restaurants in Matagalpa. It's one of the only places to get a proper *American* hamburger. The chicken wings are very good, the sub sandwich is extremely good Pretty much everything we've tried has been good. It's a little more expensive than other places, but the quality of food is worth the money.
  
  Nobody has been sick from eating here, so it's a safe place for Cheles to eat!
