Incredible stay at Los Clavos. Perfect escape from reality with great yoga, surf, food and stunning vista. Authentic and relaxed experience for those looking for something less touristy. Romain is an amazing host and makes sure everyone is well taken care of. Highly highly recommend!

This place is just amazing. If you’re looking for a yoga and surf retreat, Los Clavos is simply the perfect choice: great staff, delicious food and excellent surf and yoga instructors. Everybody is so friendly and there is a really great atmosphere amongst staff and guests.
The camp itself is so comfortable and it’s such a pleasure to just chill out in the hammocks after surf or yoga!
Good surfing for both beginners and intermediate/advanced, the main beach break being only a 10min walk from the camp, and a reef break being right in front of the camp. There are yoga classes everyday in the most amazing yoga shala overlooking the ocean. Great facilities (bonus point for the swimming pool).
Definitely the best spot if you want to take relaxing holidays. Highly recommended!
A big thank you for Romain and Claire, the welcoming & friendly owners!

Los Clavos is a wonderful destination for the slightly more adventurous, whether its taking a break from the daily grind of work, or another stop on your global travels, it has something for everyone.

It probably caters best to the beginner / intermediate surfer, for whom there are friendly surf coaches and plenty of gear available. There are a handful of beaches within walking distance that seem to have a variety of conditions, but high tide seems to be the go.

There is daily yoga available and great catered food. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the owners very friendly and helpful. The bungalows are clean and simple, and the rest of the staff great. There is a daily schedule, usually organized around tides and wind, to plan your day. Plenty of time for napping in the hammocks. If you are a yogi - you'll be spoiled by the experience, and never want to practice in a room without a view over breaking waves ever again.

Just note that Nicaragua in the dry season is arid, and the rural areas are poor. Trash overall is a growing issue for the country, but don't let that put you off. It's a great place to go visit, locals seem friendly, with apparently consistent surf, and a great venue.

Los Clavos is great! The camp is remote, beautiful and relaxing. Local waves are uncrowded. The food is delicious and healthy. Yoga classes are wonderful and set overlooking the ocean. Great vibes and awesome team. My friends and I would definitely go back.

We spent an amazing one week at Los Clavos surfcamp. If you're looking to relax and disconnect from your day-to-day life, this is the place for you! Romain, Claire and team made us feel at home from the start with a super welcoming setting. The place accommodates a maximum of 12 people so it's family-style. The days were organized around tide / swell, alternating surf sessions, yoga and meals. Surf is for all levels as you can adapt to the waves. Food is healthy and tasty, we actually really enjoyed having set meals on the table every day. Recommend it!

Lovely, lovely place. Honestly, everything about Los Clavos is 5 stars. I would definitely return (and already want to). The space is beautiful, the activities are loads of fun, the food is out of this world - always wholesome and yummy but the people set this destination apart from others. The owners Claire and Romain are super welcoming and funny! The chef, surf instructors, all A+. Hurry up and book :).

I had an awesome time at Los Clavos! Romain and Claire (owners), François (surf instructor), Julia (yoga instructor) and the rest of the staff are very welcoming and will make you feel like at home from day 1.

The break right next to the camp is great for any level. I certainly improved more in 1 week at Los Clavos than surfing intermittently in California for 1 year.

Had probably one of my best experience in this surf camp - limited number of guest creates a great community experience and all the staff is really nice, detail-oriented. Had a good surf + yoga + massages combo, perfect for deconnecting!

My second surf trip to Los Clavos - great surf, great food!!!
This is my 2nd trip to Los Clavos and again I had such a good time. We had superb surf conditions like last year and I was thrilled to surf almost twice day in warm water within walking distance. Regarding the food, it was a real experience; these guys have a gift for making every meal special : grilled fish, lobster dinner and super tasty French desserts (the owners are French). Most of the other guests were solo travellers like me, coming from Europe, US and Canada, a nice mix of interesting people at meal times around the big family table, and in the water catching waves. Not forgetting the great atmosphere at the Salsa Night on Thursday.
See you next year Los Clavos !

Claire & Romain are fantastic hosts making everyone feel so welcome! The surfing spots are great and with awesome instructors. The yoga classes had the most amazing view and was the perfect way to warm up or cool down after being in the water. The food was delicious and the whole setting was so beautiful- right on the beach front with a pool looking out to the ocean, and plenty of chilled out hammock time. Can't wait to return!

I can't say enough about Los Clavos and the experience I had during my week stay with Claire and Romain. They immediately made me feel right at home with family meals, joint outings to the beach to surf, and hanging out in the rancho for down time between activities. The camp is set right on the water in a stunning location, and whether you are looking to catch some great swells, decompress with yoga while looking out at the ocean, or just relax in a hammock with a good book, Los Clavos is the perfect place. I also don't think nearly enough is said about the food - it is delicious! Lobster night, tacos, fresh fruit, and local dishes make meal time special. I only wish I had more time to spend in Nicaragua with these wonderful people exploring the area and of course, more time in the waves.

I stayed 8 days at Los Clavos surf camp in May 2017. I had the best time from when I arrived until I left. Claire and Romain, the owners, took care of everything, all I had to do was relax. The camp was picture perfect, comfortable, up to American standards, but still had a rustic surf camp charm. Meals were fantastic, made with fresh, local ingredients and healthy.

I did not know how to surf before I came, but had excellent instruction everyday. All of the staff was welcoming and enhanced the experience. I hope to return soon.

Los Clavos is a mini heaven far away from the hustle and bustle of the "real world". Wonderful calm space, with yoga, surf, delicious food and lovely people. Between massages and hammock time, a cool beer in the pool and Claire's delicious pastries you will have no worries in the world.
I hope to return one day, it's a wonderful space.
