Do not use these wanks. Their deceitful exchange rate equates to a 33% tax.

    AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Arrived on New Years Eve at Managua International Airport, Nicaragua. When I went to exchange a few dollars, I received a rate of $20 Cordobas for $1 USD. When I said that the rate posted behind the teller was $29, I was told that it's the holidays, the rates drop and that all banks would be closed for a week. I should've trusted my instincts that this didn't sound right but at the same time, I did not want to be stuck without cash as I am travelling alone. Well, when I arrived in Granada, I found out the following:

*Most restaurants, hotels, tour operators, major grocers and some stores will take both USD and Cordobas. In fact every vendor/restaurant/store/bar I have encountered has honoured the real exchange rate.
*banks were closed for 2 days - New Years and the day after since it fell on a weekend. Same as North America.
*there are many alternative places (major grocery store, independent counters) to exchange money at the same rate with no service charges. Ask around as it's usually well known by many as to where to go.
*you can exchange money on the street but it will be at a slightly lower rate. These guys usually stand outside of banks in the presence of security guards (not sure if the guards are guarding these money changes or the banks but regardless)
*in Granada, there are tons of ATMs. You shouldn't have a problem with access.

So unless you are going straight to a small village or the islands where there are no ATMs, don't worry about exchanging your money right away upon arrival at the airport. But If you really want to, then I would avoid GLOBAL EXCHANGE at all costs.
