Alongside the lake, this has to one of the best sunset views in the world

Wow. What a hike. So going up isn't easy but most could do that. Going down though omg I'm currently in bed (just finished today) because my legs seem to be a bit wore out. On the way down you have high impact and also have to land in a place to maintain balance. Those two things for 3 hours will turn your legs to jello. Nor sure if it's worth it and maybe u r in better shape than me but I've never had trouble climbing anything. But try to plan it so it's isn't as cloudy. It seems to be often topped with cloud but wjen we went up it was pretty cloudy. Cleared on the way down but by that point I didn't care.

Amazing experience! I strongly recommend good hiking boots, and a wind proof jacket.
The climb and accent took us 7 hours all together. The tour guide is A MUST! It is not possible to home it on your own.
On the way up we saw white faced monkeys, vine snake and parrots, along with a stunning views of ometepe island.
On the top it gets REALLY windy, it is not a easy hike. But I recommend highly.response / report this review -

Me and my family climbed this volcano last December, our first. From the moment we emerged over the tree line to the summit, the image of what was coming was "Obscured by Clouds." We saw little at the summit and I didn't bother standing, it was so windy. Miraculously, as we descended, the clouds parted and we saw the volcano wondering, "Did we just climb that? I'm not going to climb that!" The descent killed off my legs to the point I couldn't climb stairs properly for a week. I also fell a meter but I got some amazing photos that our predecessors that day could only admire. A pretty good challenge, made possible by my strength and our guide Roger!

Just amazing. The climb is not for beggeners but if you can, do it. Wild life is everywhere and guides are very well informed and helpful. Recommended.

Great hike, not that easy though. But really worths it ! The view at the top is beautiful.

Incredibly tough hike but worth it. First hour is walking through forest, once you come out it's a straight ascent up. We had all sorts of weather so needed suncream, sun glasses, bug spray and rain jacket. The climb down is tough, take it slow as it's easy to slip on the loose rocks. Felt so good mentally when I hiked it, but not going to lie my body was aching for a couple days after.
