I have stayed many times over the last 8 years at Hotel Nicarao. It is centrally located. It is simple, most reliable, clean, and the owner and staff are extremely attentive, friendly and caring.

The Casa Hotel Nicarao is centrally located in the city of Esteli on the Avenida Central which is full of commercial shops. The Hotel Nicarao is named after the native Nicaraguan Indian chief from which the country gets its name. The large central open-air lobby boasts of a large mural of the chief Nicarao. It is a small hotel of 10 guest rooms, the rooms are appointed with furniture handcrafted in Nicaragua. All the guest rooms have their own private restroom with bath, hot water and cable TV. Free WiFi and breakfast is included! The rooms do not have air-conditioning but the city of Esteli is at a high altitude which is at cooler temperature. They have a full-service kitchen with cooks for all your meals. The "Casa Hotel Nicarao" is also a restaurant who specialize in home cooked Nicaraguan cuisine. I found the food to be very tasty and the menu included a few old time favorite Nicaraguan dishes, which are not found anywhere anymore.
