Nice cafe for Nicarahua. Good ambiance , comfortable with good service
Laid back relaxed atmosphere in an atrium style garden area in back. Food was excellent as well as the service. The owners, Naomi and Chef Puro, could not have been nicer.
By chance, while smoking a cigar after dinner and sipping some 18 year old rum, we were introduced by Chef Puro, to Omar Rodriguez who literally wrote the book on cigars of Nicaragua. What a wonderful way to top off the evening. Will definitely go back.
Chef Puro and his lovely wife Naomi are dedicated culinary professionals actively growing the restaurant scene in Granada with excellent food, great service, and an unmatched ambience!
Laid back atmosphere, great food. Great choice of adult beverages. The owner and staff were wonderful and treated us like family. This is a North American style cigar bar/restaurant with US style service and prices.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GO HERE !!!! Man I wish I took some pictures. The ambiance was artistic and great but that's no where near the focus of this restaurant. The steaks are served "blue" or "red", what ever that means. I got red. It has to have been the best tasting, most tender piece of meat I've ever put into my mouth. It was drizzled with a goat cheese sauce and served with this beet rosette that was to die for. I would fly to Nicuragua in a heartbeat just to go back to this restaurant. The rum tastings aren't half bad either.
Best restaurant in Granada. Chef puro has skills. Try the rib eye and a nice margarita
Very nice Restaurant and very delicious food. Perfect for cigarsmokers.
Amazing food, cigars, decor, atmosphere and service! Owners are a great couple and we'll be back to enjoy their lounge and company.
Can't explain how good the food and staff were! Thank you! Such a special night!
Excellent food and excellent service. We had the beef rib and the chicken, the flavours were complex and a victory to our palettes. If you are looking to spoil yourself with some fine dining, it doesn't get finer than this in Granada.
Not the best service - but fine items
Great food with a cool vibe. Fresh beautiful flavors. My husband had a perfect steak and I enjoyed a delicious lamb sausage pasta. The best meal that we enjoyed in Granada. The decor is super cool with reclaimed hardwoods and iron and cow hide artisan chairs. For cigar and rum lovers, this place is jackpot. We enjoyed some local rum with our meal which rivaled our favorite brands from Havana. The owners are personable and knowledgeable. For a special treat in Granada, definitely make it to this spot.
Spectacular food, great bar and Very fine cigar choices. Best place for a special occasion. William and Noemi always make me feel special when I visit and have made my friends feel like family. One of my top 5 restaurants in Nicaragua 😀❤
Very nice atmosphere,a little expensive for Granada. Has nice drink selection, food is higher end in granada.
Great experience. The owners are nice and have a lot of experience in the US. The result is great food and great service. Lovely atmosphere in this old colonial building. 5 stars !
My experience:
I'll share with you share my experience as it relates to the restaurant Cuidad Lounge in Granada. Having owned my company for 28 years and blessed with being responsible for the entertainment, dining , accommodations, et al for thousands of people, I've learned a fair amount as to what makes a great restaurant.
Desperate for an upgraded dining experience, I rang up my “new best friend” and promptly agreed to spend 125% of the amount previously budgeted for one of the top steakhouses in town. Losing $600 to make a new client happy is a no-brainer in my business.
Strangely enough, Chef William proposed a menu of Nicaraguan lamb, Beef tongue and Chicken Mole. After reading one review on the chefs lamb tasting like leather, I promptly redesigned the menu and went safely to his steak. FYI , a split appetizer, full steak and a split dessert (with a terrible bottle of wine) came to $74, all-in. I haven't spoke to my clients yet but I'm going to give Cuidad the benefit of the doubt that the meal came out splendidly.
I'm not here to complain about price because I will spend substantially more at other restaurants in Managua, who are truly dining experiences, but I'll get six to seven courses and a great bottle of wine.
I researched his Cab, Shiraz and Malbec and all three were terrible. Decent enough producers albeit poor vintages and literally marked up 400% ! Without a doubt the worst wine menu I've ever seen.
And for la pièce de résistance, I had made a mistake in assuming my 15 guests would be sitting at the same table. I rarely fail to confirm every detail but later found out, after I had complained, that one of my colleagues in fact had specifically stated in writing that our group had to be at ONE table; he replied to other requests in the same email whilst purposely avoiding any response on our one "table".
I quickly rang him up and voiced my concern and astonishment that he had split the group into five different tables. He argued that he didn't have one large table (or several together) and when I dared to politely (though firmly) suggest that informing me of such beforehand would have at least allowed me to inform the client accordingly, he shoved the phone back into the hands of my concierge and stormed off stating "I don't need to be lectured in my own restaurant" ! Had this been his cell phone, he wouldn't have handed it to the nearest person, he would have hung up. Exact same thing. As to being “lectured” in his own restaurant, what would he prefer his treasured clients do….ask him to walk around the corner??
Now I asked myself , how can a man representing himself to be a pioneer in the Granada restaurant scene, hang up on a client?
I discovered he charged me for 20 bottles of wine when in fact , they consumed only eight. I called my guide and instructed him to require a visual confirmation on the other 12 empty bottles "consumed". Failing to do so, they promptly refunded 12 of them. I guess they felt that $10 bottles of Pellegrino and a few extra bottles of wine wouldn't be noticed with guys on a private jet who's group leader was 10,000 miles away.
In conclusion, what we have here is at best a cigar and rum Lounge with commensurate pricing and that in itself is a good value proposition. But he's also trying to be a restaurant but for some reason he's ignored the fact that every single restaurant on the entire planet has made table accommodations for groups larger than 4 people. If you are going to be a lounge, be a lounge. If you’re going to be the most expensive restaurant in town, get your act together and buy a few folding tables and throw down a white table cloth and be ready to accommodate the inevitable groups you’re going to get. For a couple so brilliantly delighted with their own attention to detail, you’d think they would assume they might get the occasional six or eight top.
All in all it was a good night for everyone including the chef. He managed to make 4 figures off of me and lost an easy 200 future customers.
And that didn't bother him one little bit.
Amazing atmosphere. Exclusive experience in fine dining food was delicious. The owners are very attentive and it's not just the food. It's the dining experience is ahead of its time in Granada.
