Over time my office always had lunch at Wakkis a few times a year. I enjoyed the food so much that I have taken different groups of chums there and have gone with my wife several times.
The lay out of the place can suit a wide variety of settings so whether you are looking for a quiet corner to tuck in to with that special someone or a space to hang out with friends or colleagues for some good food and drinks, Wakkis can sort you out.
When it boils down to it though, food is what you are there for and I can sincerely say they will not let you down. I have enjoyed a wide range of Indian foods and particularly enjoy the garlic and butter naan with lamb curry.
The bread always comes straight out of the oven and I always get melted butter all over my fingers when I pick it up to eat. Can't get enough of it.
The service is not bad, considering that the food is coming fresh and hot and the atmosphere doesn't leave you bored while you wait.
I can't recommend this place enough.
I love the African tradition depicts in the restaurant. There are wooden tables and chairs, bamboo and mats. Chinese, Indian and other continental dishes are served. No air-conditioning, everything is at room temperature except heat extractors placed in strategic positions reduce temperature due to the ovens and grills.
Horrible service and attitude. OK food. The waiter informed us after seating us that the POS system was not working and they will accept only cash. We found an ATM and came back with cash. After really really slow service they bought edible food. Not good, just OK. After eating, I chased down the waiter and requested 2 separate bills for us (we were 2 guys and company pays for all this so we needed separate bills). The waiter got nasty and told us we did not tell him when placing the order so he will not change it now. I did not want to argue so I hunted down the manager, Julius and asked him to resolve. Right away this guy starts to blame us for not telling them initially. I told him why did not you ask. He says not their job. And how the owner is out of country and it is not permitted and blah blah blah and excuses without realizing that their internal mismanagement is not customers problem. Typical anti customer Nigerian attitude of the manager and staff. This place is run like a bureaucracy and not a private business and maddeningly slow. Spend your money somewhere else where they want your business.
Wakkis food is an Indian restaurant.
I visited last night and had a very good time.
They serve spicy foods, mostly roasted over a charcoal spit and accompanied by basmati rice and/or potato chips or bread.
The main courses include chicken, fish, prawns, lamb. I had both the lamb and chicken with potato chips and basmati rice.
They offer take outs, take orders and have a delivery service.
The restaurant had lots of people of diverse cultures. It is a quaint old, upscale place which caters to couples, families and large groups.
There's no wheelchair accessible parking or entrance. Just a steep incline for cars parking in the restaurant grounds.
I've been going to wakkis for years now and they have never compromised on their 5 star services. The food is great. Simple decor and great ambience. The staff are very friendly and professional. Great place for Indian food.
I had the snail and it was TOO spicy. My colleagues tried some other things like the lamb and liked it. Service was a bit slow.
amazing indian food. Nihari is the best. Mr Asif the best chef
A good place. . The food is good Menu is also good Want a taste of a herbal meal? No other place than Wakkis.

Lovely food that is quite filling. Inspiring ambience. They have a variety of appetizing meals that activates your taste buds and makes you fuller longer.
Delicious food. Great service. Place is a bit rudimentary but that's the vibe. I would go back in heart beat!
Nice upscale Indian restaurant. My Indian colleagues attest to the perfect Indian cuisines. Will advise calling ahead to place your order as it takes time to be served after ordering especially at peak periods.
Good food. Good crowd. Service time can be improved upon. Plus for them is the fact that after so many years they still command a good crowd and to be quite candid they do a good job in their maintenance culture
It's located in a very suitable location. The atmosphere was wonderful. The staff were respectful and did their jobs effectively. The food was great! I will definitely be visiting there again.
We were happy with the food and service. Prices were normal for this type of restaurants. Most importantly the food wasn't terribly hot like the traditional Nigerian.
Food is good. Predominantly India cuisine. Prices are bit high.
I♡Wakkis!
It's got this African/homely feel you can't overlook.
Special thanks to one of its Agent; James.
I hope I got his name right. This man does his work with ease and does it gooood.
Next time you're in the FCT, take your Waka to Wakkis. You sure won't regret you did.
Food is fingerlicking good here although service is slow. Took about 15minutes before I was approached by the waiter. I loved the setting and decor(furnished with wooden tables and benches that can seat a group of 4-6 people) downside is the heat caused by the in-house grill(no air-conditioning just fans)
Menu is relatively cheap 3500 - 5000 naira per head.
Favourite Indian restaurant in Abuja. Its affordable. The ribs are amazing.
Serene environment,
Parking space, security guaranteed.
Sumptuous meal, available variety to both locals and foreigners.
Intercontinental dishes, local meals and the likes.
Memorable experience!
Thanks
