A Federal Govt. second generation University. Used to be one of the smallest in Nigeria but the aggressive but strategic expansion drives of the Vice Chancellors and Federal Government in last ten years has made the school to become of the biggest in Nigeria. It has added more faculties and programs. It now rank in the top ten for the diversity of programs. Most the faculty buildings are still relatively new and the university is very peaceful. They have much to offer in Medical Sciences, Law,Engineering, Social Sciences and Humanities. The central library houses some original historical material that can't be found elsewhere. For example writings of Usman DanFodio, Nana Asmau, etc

Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, The most peaceful university in Nigeria and one of the best in the country. The university produces quality students in both character and learning. Graduates of Usmanu Danfodiyo University are very good ambassadors of anywhere in the world. The University have several departments and faculties ranging from Agriculture, Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences etc
