A mother and grandmother died here because they put her on an oxygen mask with NO oxygen. Furthermore, the hospital won’t answer the phone and we’ve been trying for 4 days. They are very unprofessional, unreliable, and this is just scary. They are the cause of ongoing tears with no answers. Shame on this place. How do you not even answer the phone lines?
I actually came with my sister who just had a baby and was referred to this hospital from Wuse District Hospital. I must say they've better care and organization here.
From the time of being called Gwagwalada specialist hospital to now that it's called UATH(University of Abuja teaching hospital) there has been some significant improvement in the overall management of the place, the sorroundings are kept clean, no indiscriminate parking, as the new CMD has subjected all vehicles to park in the designated parking area, the lawns are mowed. In the aspect of health care I visited the accident and emergency unit and must say that although alot of improvement is needed, the staff on duty carried out their duties diligently. Maintenance culture should be imbibed in all who work here to ensure it can only get better.
Most medical services are provided at minimal cost.
Best orthopedic surgeon from California University Dr. Wlliams
Very good hospital with alot of experienced medical professionals, it plays host to more than a thousand medical doctors, nurses and laboratory technicians.
Physically covers a very large space of land with alot of infrastructural feautures to show for that. Each department has it's own building.
It is unique for the quality of skilled personnels, especially the specialist in different fields.
Customer relations service management is still very poor although it runs a semi automated system with a lot of human capacity deficiencies, their information management system is great but can be hearnessed for effective service delivery.
Generally, processes are slow due to massive inflow of patients.
The University of Abuja Teaching Hospital is a tertiary federal government hospital. Their revenue system is semi automated and they also operate a good medical records system as registration, appointment booking and patient attendance statistics are all done online. Even though the doctors see a lot of patients as expected in rural areas, they try to put a smile to their face. The hospital is cheap when compared to hospitals offering same service with the locality or in the urban areas. Finally, they have a good and active Chief Medical Director who is doing a lot to improve healthcare delivery, motivate staff and build infrastructure.
Tertiary health care facility with very friendly and dedicated staff.
