Queensgate Continental, offer a classic taste of dish
Lovely place
First time here and I have got mixed feelings about the place. Overall, Queensgate seems a decent hotel, but there are many areas that need plenty of attention in order to raise the standard of the hotel.
On driving in, parking space is limited, as the parking area is small (in my opinion) for a standard hotel. The reception is okay for a hotel of its standard. However, the colour theme/marble works used is too dark. If bright colours had been used, I guess it would have given it a better sense of space. The hallways are narrow, so you get that sense of being cramped. One thing I like is the use of art pieces/works that adorn the walls.
The rooms (generally speaking despite staying in only one) are brightly coloured. They have different colour mixes and patterns on the walls. Ah, the one thing that got me excited is that when you enter the room, the access card for the door is what acts as the power on 'button' for the room as you would have to put the card into a power slot. Not that many Nigerian hotels have that mechanism. The layout of the rooms seems okay. The bathrooms could do with upgrades to give it a better feel.
Well, the one big disappointment is the dining area. It feels like a very small room fitted out to seat not more than 20 persons or so. Which is why I noticed a number of people asking for room service.
Overall, Queensgate is a decent hotel for transit stays.
