  The idea to visit didn't prepare me for the raw emotion and unguarded attitude of the people and children there.
  
  Being a home and school for varying degrees of dependents, the caretakers are all Govt workers with hearts of GOLD.
  They are open and caring as well as intuitive to the way the children communicate.
  
  With different hostels & wards, the caretakers segregate their wards by the amount of care they need.
  
  Due the many and diverse needs of their wards, they are always in need of support, donations and contributions. Feel free to share

  The Modupe Cole Memorial Childcare & Treatment Home was established in 1960 in Surulere by Mrs. Modupe Cole and many years later they moved to their present location. Somewhere in the existence of the home, the Lagos State Government stepped in and took over Management of the home and naming it after the Founder.
  
  The home currently caters to more than 450 children, teens and adults with mental and developmental challenges, some of whom have been at the home for a very long time. There is one case of a resident in the home who is 66 years old and has been at the home since he was 6 six years old. The residents of the home are grouped into 3 categories; the Educables; Trainables and Totally Dependent. The last group are those who cannot help themselves and need the constant support of a caregiver to help them through each day. The Trainables are those who have reached a certain development stage and are then put through vocational training. The Educables are those who have the capacity to go through school.
  
  The various vocations the residents go through include tailoring, hair making, barbing, home economics, computer lab, carpentry, leather works, etc.
  
  The home needs support in all sorts of forms but these have to come through on a constant basis. Various organisations have been supporting the school over the years but there is still so much room for a great deal of improvement.
  
  Personally, visiting here for an extended tour of the facility and spending time with the residents has giving me a different perspective on many things. Looking forward to supporting the school long term.

  Module Cole is a place where physically challenged individuals are being taken care of. They have residential facility. Meals are also provided to the children on daily basis.

  This is home to unstable individuals, total attention is giving to them in order to assist them improve their mental capability and become more lucid.

  It's good to help the needy. I once, alongside members of youth decisive forum to offer fumigation service the school.
  Kudos to the government for providing such facility.

  A worthy initiative by the Lagos State government and highly commendable. The children and adults are catered for and seem quite happy. People need to be more supportive, especially in enabling them become more self reliant; their workshops should be more equipped and should have a medium to sell their wares. The children are adorable and so loving.

  A home school for mentally challenged children. Despite their disabilities, these kids had so much energy and were excited to take pictures. The school needs plenty of support, not just materials and cash but time and resources to help with the rehabilitation of the children.
  
  List of materials needed include but not limited to:
  - food items (rice, beans, noodles, etc)
  - diesel
  - TV
  - 75 amps batteries
  - mattresses (4*6, 4.5*6, 6*6)
  - visiting doctors & nurses
  - armless chairs
  - green bins
  - rechargeable lamps

  - dummy baby

  - A4 papers
  - photocopy machine
  - white board markers
