Kwara NYSC orientation camp isn't as bad as people make it seem. The toilets are good, there is available water supply and also, steady power supply. The only issue I had was that you had to pay to charge your phones and systems

This is an orientation camp, strictly regimented, there are military man everywhere and once you come in, there is no going out for two weeks, unless for medical cases, the camp provides you with 3 square meal a day, but if you're not satisfied, there is a mini market on camp where you can get everything you need, there is a bar, food cartine and a host of people to do your washing.
There is a clinic on camp to care for injured or sick people, but not a HOSPITAL, in extreme case, people are taken to a hospital which is miles away. When coming in the camp director ask of you're sick, if yes, they'll clear you and dispatch you As soon as possible.
This is a military camp intended to instill discipline in fresh graduate and integration

It was a bitter sweet experience
Mostly bitter. Early morning drills at 4am. Military personnel over riding corp members. Horrible food. Extra high cost of charging phones, lack of water, the mami marketers another set of criminals.
The only fun was the friends I made.

The review that follows will be based on a recent experience (March 2019) and is subject to change as the Orientation camp is being renovated by the day thanks to the efforts of a Mother of many that is Kwara State Nysc State Coordinator Mrs. Esther Ikupolati.

The Kwara state Nysc Orientation camp is located in Yikpata, Edu Lga. It is approximately 1hr 45m away from Ilorin the capital of the state which virtually every Prospective corp member deployed to the state deem far.

The weather in Yikpata seem to be somewhat adverse depending on the season of the year. In April 2019, we recorded weather of up to 40°C (according to Google weather report, screenshot will be attached). So be ready to drink lot of water if you find yourself here in the dry season. You definitely need a sunshade and face towel too.

For the most part the female hostels in the camp are quite in good conditions with good toilet and bathrooms (can't really say about the proportion of people to toilet and bathroom). However, the story of the male hostels is quite different with very few mobile toilet available to many. The hostels can get overcrowded too.

The hall of the camp is poorly ventilated and have less than half of the required seat for corp members. Sound system needs to be upgraded as most lecturers sound completely inaudible enough for the information they intended passing to get to their required audience.

No perimeter fence in the camp which is super scary as attack can come from anywhere although Soldiers and other military personnel are well stationed in, around and outside the camp for safety of everybody.

There's no atm on camp so you have to withdraw using Pos which usually attracts a fair extra charge than ATM. Only Airtel and Mtn work here for sure.

The price of stuffs can be a little bit expensive due to transportation cost and other factors but if it goes beyond affordable for an average man pls talk to the Camp director or State Coordinator, they're very welcoming and will do something about as soon as possible.

With all these been said, you should be ready assured that you'll be in good hands at Kwara state Nysc orientation camp in Yikpata as the amazing staffs ranging from the Nysc officials to military personnel will make sure that you have a good time without having to pay nothing. Everything from registration on camp to relocation is without financial difficulty with the State Coordinator I assure you of that.

Although the weather was too harsh but eventually we get adapted to the place. The state coordinator is very nice. She's like a mother to us all. I really love the camp.

Good officials but the weather is not that okay, and also some buildings are really not okay here. The government should build more buildings with standard auditorium hall for lectures in order for everyone to be able to participate well.

Kwara state NYSC orientation camp is one of the best in Nigeria. The state coordinator is caring and so compassionate towards the affairs of the corp member.

It a very good camp. My problem here is there convince I mean there toilet. Is not good or let me say they don't have. How do u expect a graduate to enter into a bush to pass out physic. Or poo. I thinks Nigeria government should look at this.

The soldiers are very friendly the Structures are very old but the new state Coordinator is renovating them more boreholes have been built but water is still a problem due to the soil structure of the area. Overall the camp is not too bad I would say its a bit above average or average.

Has been and still under renovation. Registration process is smooth, environment is nice. There is now a generator for the camp [sockets not available, charge at mami].
Restrooms are way better.
In summary, the Camp is a lot better than other past reviewers said with the renovation. Come and experience it.

Located at Yipata, the Kwara State NYSC Orientation camp takes about 1h 40 mins from Ilorin town and it's some few distance after Share. Yipata people are mostly villagers and are known for farming. The camp is a bit far away from populated area and well secured by various uniform men. The terrain of the camp is natural and beautiful.

I'm a batch B 2017 stream 1 set.
Bear in mind you're going for a vacation away from home. It's not a dungeon neither is it a den, no boring time here.
What so ever negativity you must have read about the camp might not be so. I'm presently in camp and many things I read and heard about the camp which is negative has changed. Though, it's not as perfect as home but at least, I would rate them 70/100.

It's a very peaceful place, all green and natural with special shiny stones on the ground.
While on camp, most of the villagers hardly understood any language not theirs (Nupe, Yoruba). Their is poor network coverage though MTN is not so terrible there. The camp is not fenced, which keeps it exposed, as snakes, scorpions are usually seen. Water is brought to the camp at least twice daily but it has an odour when stored. Though the environment is fumigated, a specie of flies always follow people around in an irritating manner and at all times,also wearing hosts help. Well, it's a camp so different activities will make it fun.

The camp is okay. Although, water supply still remains a challenge, as well as power. The loud speakers for broadcast aren't loud enough and there isn't much to go round so some places end up being isolated.
