You all need to go there One of God's amazing gifts to Nigeria
I just love this place called Gurara waterfall. Awesome view when standing on the side where the water flows from.
It's a lovely place for picnics, small parties and relaxation.
A lot needs to be done in beautifying and making a world standard Tourist site. The government has failed in this aspect.
The locals are trustworthy and friendly. All they care for is you tip and pay them whenever their services is given.
The water can be so dirty because errosion/flood water is allowed to flow in the river.
Beautiful place. The waterfalls are soothing to look at. The guides are calm and helpful too.
I have visited three times now. Beautiful place that i feel is wildly under developed in terms of how much value it can bring: tourist experience et al. I keep imagining being able to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of a waterfall; have a freshly caught grilled fish with yams or potatoes.
That said, the absolute best time to go is in the raining season. The fall is glorious at that time. If you are looking to climb the side of the waterfall, dry season is your best bet.
Nature at its best.. I would recommend any wildlife lover to visit here
The place is amazing, The work of My God is indescribable @Gurara WaterfallsThe rocks were carved to make step for pple to climb by the nature What Nature has done there is beyond Human Imagination
Amazing..you get a different feel based in when you visit. The low tide during dry seasons has a quite unique view and the water at that time is cleaner and you are able to see parts of the rock and might even be able to soak in a short time at some pools of water. In the rainy season, the force of the water is also a spectacle.
I would suggest a double visit at the peak of both seasons.
Encounter nature with Great waterfalls and breathtaking scenery. There's a picnic spot close to the waterfalls and your pictures will look awesome in this place. It is located in Niger state, about two hours drive from the Nations capital Abuja. The road is not very good so I don't advise going with a low car. You should go with your food and drinks as there is no food spot there. There are boys around willing to carry your load to the picnic spot for a small tip. Make sure you go with hiking shoes because of the rocky nature of the place.
The place is cool and breath taking but it still needs more attention. No bar nor snacks shop. No hotel nor any form of accommodation or conference hall, when this things are put together am sure it will be a one stop spot for all
It's a tourist attraction and it's very beautiful
Therefore it's a very nice place for picnic
My visit to the Gurara Waterfalls was quite a memorable experience. It's a breathtaking scenery
Good picnic spot to hangout with friends/family. Breathtaking views
Lovely falls. Breathtaking. The guides were quite helpful too. Good picnic spot.
The fall is a sight to behold, definitely fun climbing the rocks for the adventurous
Its a really nice place to visit especially during the harmattan as the water level is low and for the hike lovers like myself, you can get to hike and enjoy the water.
When the water is average, it's a beautiful sight to behold and a good location for adventure lovers or even those seeking some calm
The water level is low enough during harmattan to scale the face of the falls. There is a single rest room and you have to pay an admittance fee at the 'gate' when you drive in. A vendor sells bottled water and soft drinks at the small rest area beside the car park but you'll have to bring your own food. There are guides to lead you along several trails.
Even though the water level is quite low there are quite a few deep sink holes. So even experienced swimmers should exercise caution
