It's just an OK hostel but like every other place, it had its own problems which can be very annoying. It's kind of overrated but it's quite okay.

It was not perfect but it was manageable. Thanking God for my stay here. I was exposed to hostel prayers which boosted my spirutuality. My roommates were very accomodating.

I'm giving it two stars and not one because I don't want to seem too harsh. Also because u must give it at least a star to comment. Ppl will quickly disagree and say all the things they HEARD abt this place, but I'll tell u everything AS IT IS. ppl say we have water.
(1)But even the water is terrible, it has worms of different species wriggling inside. All screaming out, "hey look at me I can swiiim!!!!!!". So come with lots of dettol. That's when they decide to pump d water. When they dont u go down and fetch water like every oda person.
(2) Of course u all saw the hostel at face value and loved it. but stay here and ull notice that this place is crap. Before coming I was led to believe that a standby generator was ready at all times. I came in only to see that the generator is only switched on at night 4rm 7:30-10:00pm against the school's boys hostel which switches off theirs by
12am. now comparing the price it's 86.5k against 30+K.
(3) Not only that, the smell from the various algae infested stagnant puddles plus that of the toilet pit is enough to give this place zero. So if u wanna come here ull have to get a constant supply of air freshener.
(4)Then comes their poor maintenance, honestly speaking my toilet sink has been clogged up for over a month now and all they keep saying is "the plumber will come soon". So we can't use d sink and we can't call a plumber cos datll mean breaking one of their pointless rules. Now reviewing (1), when the water pump spoils (it has spoilt before), ull b fetching water in an endless line for a very long time.
(5) This 5th reason is personal and has nothing to do with the hostel or its management. If ure a Christian and ull like to avoid certain temptations, come ye not here. The ladies here wear crap and call it clothes. Why not go stark so everyone will know d madness is full-blown??!!
Amongst, all these being here has some advantages
(1) there's light 70% of the time. this has nothing to do with the hostel though. They get their supply from the school grid as does every other hostel inside campus. All these hold when the school light does not have a fault.
(2) it's location is ideal, it has a quiet, safe environment and it's close to the various lecture venues so u won't spend much. Again it's the same with all other hostels only that Elmada is more quiet.
(3) I have to add. at least they pump the worm infested water so it'll save u the stress of going down sometimes and then ull tackle with lots of dettol
Overall. Considering that there are 3 ppl a room at 86.5k each person as opposed to 4/5 ppl a room at 30+K in d school hostel,ill say that the price is quite high. Honestly speaking, this hostel does not deserve all the praise it receives.response / report this review -

I have to give you 3 cos you deserve only three
Before getting elmada form to fill,I was informed as written in the form that you got warmer, steady water, steady light with good generator hell no! Behold this was truebut we are having problem with water almost everyday and also the with light.
Also,I heard of free WIFI of which I have never witnessed here
The funny thing is that you are going to here so many good things about the hostel but not all of them are true Anyway I stil consider it as the best hostel now in UNIZIKresponse / report this review -
