Bodija market is popular in Ibadan and environs. It is the largest foodstuff market in Ibadan. It has a large abattoir where cows are slaughtered six days a week. It also has a large planck market called by its Yoruba name "iso pako". Financial institutions such as First bank, Wema bank, Skye bank, Access bank & Fidelity bank have branches around the market.

They have a wide variety of goods ranging from electronics on the north end of the market to food stuffs on the south end also.
The fact that it spans a long way along a major road makes it easy to enter and pick any commodity of your choice then exit the market with little or no stress.
The Calabar dish which I bought from a food vendor in the market made my day.

Varieties of stuffs are on sale here and at very good prices too. Government should consider making this a more organised market centre to make it more convenient and attractive to shoppers. Parking spaces needs to be provided as well.

Very popular produce market in the city of Ibadan. Still retain medieval era infrastructures & poor hygiene, as fresh, raw farm products including meat/fish are sold in open wares, exposed to dust, and freely touched by anyone who cares to.

However, it is a typical Nigerian market place in the order of the mid 20th century. Improved approach to open produce trading has been adopted else where in Nigeria like the Tejuoso market in Lagos but, Bodija Market is not likely to been given such makeover in a hurry.!

If you want to buy a wide range of local items from the local people at the local price, it is the place to go.!
