  It was the best place in Niamey to eat, maybe they have to do something with flies and lizards there.

  Update, February 2018. This is still one of my favorite hotels in West Africa. However, see below:
  
  Tip 1: if staying over the weekend, ask for a room away from the pool restaurant area (quieter away from resto).
  
  Tip 2: restaurant menu prices have gone up - way up. You can order a $14 fish dish and the fish comes alone. If you ant something like vegetables, you have to pay extra for them (I paid an extra $4 for fresh green beans- delicious, but the overall price for the fish of $18 had me wondering why such a nice, small place was charging big hotel prices.

  Impeccable, qualité rarissime en Afrique de l'ouest. Pour le prix.quelques mèches plus cher comparé aux autres.
