The Tertiary Institute Sports Association of Namibia (TISAN)
The Association was founded on November 26, 1990 where the founding members
undertook to:
- Promote unity, reconciliation and nation building in and amongst our students
from the different institutions, based on non-discrimination and non-racial
principles
- Create a spirit of discipline, mutual respect and partnership
- Encourage new ideas and new ways of doing things
In each of the countries regions, TISAN employs the following competition systems
•League competitions
•Regional championships
•Regional games
Regionally, TISAN is affiliated to the Confederation of Universities and Colleges
Sports Association (CUCSA) ZONE Vl Student Games which mainly covers the SADC
countries. On the African continent, the Federation of African University Sports (FASU)
and internationally, the International University Sports Federation (FASU).
2012 has been an exciting year for TISAN. Under current president Werner Jeffery it
hosted the June 2012 CUCSA games with resounding success on and off the field and
is currently hard at work preparing to host the FASU Games 2012.
