This was the most unexpected and wonderful 'find'. The Namibian government clearly spends a bit of money on this national treasure, making it extremely affordable for all, locals and tourists. Like the rest of swakopmund, it's painfully clean and experiencing the feeding of the main ta k just made the time there even better! You can go everyday of the week and have fun here!
We really enjoyed visiting this aquarium 🐟 the entrance fee is very affordable and it's a lovely little outing on a foggy day. It isn't a big aquarium at all, but it's interesting and the staff are very friendly. We we're lucky enough to be there when they fed the fish in the main tank which was an exceptional treat.
It's a good place to take kids. We went on a Sunday when the diver was feeding the fish and shark. Beautiful experience.
Awesome experience to see our own different fish species in Namibian Sea
Not a large aquarium, but exhibits are well presented. Great location - next to the sea.
Diversity of marine living organisms, good for educational purposes, intrinsic value and knowledge in general. Marine life on land
This place has lots of potential to becom even better. Mini tours could be offered, the toys upstairs could be fixed. When we visited my 6 year-old niece was so sad that the games were not functional in the animal figures. Other than that it was a fun experience and I would visit again some day.
Possibly the best aquarium in the whole of Southern Africa with different fish species in tanks..Very educative for your typical student or interested person.
They need to upgrade bring in more new adventures
Small but children love to go there
Small average for an aquarium, but it is still cheap to visit and fun to look at the fish or touch a stingray
Small aquarium with limited selection of marine life
It is great fun and a wonderful experience. And it is nice and cool inside. The place to hide away from the heat
Having the sea life at your exposure. The best in Africa.
Very small aquarium but for the price a good deal
Great place to view the type of fish we have in out Atlantic Ocean
I don't hate it, but I would love to see animals like hippos and others.
It was an interesting place but a bit disappointing that they did not have the other big sea animals such as dolphins or seals. Otherwise there was no guiding through the displays etc. I would go there again but with well managed expectations. It was a poor showing for an aquarium.
Really small aquarium, with very few fish. Couple of Sharks and a glass tunnel which is nice, but that's about it. You would be done within 15 minutes. Saw couple of dead fish in the tanks too. The entrance fee depends on whether you are local or South African (cheaper), or an overseas traveler (more expensive).
All Marine life found along the Namibian Atlantic Coastline is on display!
Great entertainment for children and adults. Beautifully set up and maintained
Although small, the National Aquarium showcases some of the more common fish types from the West Coast. Aquarium is well maintained. Divers also feed the fish regularly on Saturdays and Sundays at 15:00.
For a small country like Namibia to have such a natural treasure is wonderful
