NESA is the governing sports body that facilitates and coordinates esports activities within Namibia. Committed towards the promotion and development of competitive gaming, this non-profit organization strives towards establishing esports as a locally valued sports code with respected international rankings.
As a globally popularized means of entertainment, electronic gaming has made its way to the personal computer (PC), console (Playstation, X-Box, etc.) and various mobile platforms. NESA competitions, made possible by event sponsors, allows casual and competitive gamers to participate in a variety of platforms and games.
Local esports leagues and tournaments are complimented by NESA’s endorsement of private competitions. NamLAN – LAN of the Brave is Namibia’s biggest esports event with its traditional annual appearance since 2008.
Affiliation with the International Esports Federation (IESF) allows for the proud Namibian representation and participation in the international arena. NESA continues to build quality relationships both locally and internationally as gaming continues to grow as a sport in Namibia.
Vision:
NESA's vision is for Electronic Sports to be the most popular sport in Namibia and for Namibia to be the best in Africa with regard to Electronic Sports.
Mission:
a) To govern, manage and communicate all forms of Electronic Sports at all levels nationwide.
b) Whilst working closely with its main stakeholders NESA promotes and develops Electronic Sports by hosting national and international events and managing national teams for the enjoyment of spectators and participants whilst satisfying sponsors’ needs.
c) To develop, train and fund Electronic Sports in Namibia.
d) To promote sportsmanship, discipline and sporting etiquette as well as healthy, sporting lifestyles and wellness.
e) To support Electronic Sports related industries and service providers.
f) To promote legal electronic practices.
