We tend to visit Windhoek a couple of times each year, and making a visit to Joe's is always on the list. Great atmosphere and food selection, especially for tourists looking for an African experience. Probably a good idea to book ahead during peak season, especially on weekends. We'll be back soon!
Good food. Good atmosphere. Service can do with some slight improvement.
Unique decorations and atmosphere. Big menu with a lot of options also special foods such as crocodile. Other than that a huge range of game meals as well as pork, beef, chicken and other standard restaurant dishes. Good food overall. I need to mention though that I received terrible service upon my previous 3 visits. I hope this will be improved as I would currently favour other options for eating out.
This is probably the best known restaurant (tourist attraction) in Namibia and well worth the visit. The food is above-average and the service is good. Price-wise for Windhoek Namibia you will get excellent value for money. This place is a Must Visit Attraction!!
Joe's is a must know, but after you've been there once or twice, it's not necessarily a must go. The atmosphere is lots of fun, and it's a great place to meet fun people. Can get very busy with tourists in peak season, in which case service can be significantly slowed. Food is really enjoyable, but not excellent. The Bushfire is one of my favorite dishes.
Honestly don't understand the hype around this place. I guess the foreigners like it, but as a local, I've been to much better places. I hate that I had to share a table with another couple. Seats are fixed to the ground, so I can't shift my seat closer to the table. My steak wasn't great, was a little over. This place gets too crowded and the walls and ceilings are filled with dust.
This is the place to be if you want to chill and have a good time. This is the souvenir of Namibia. Love this place love their beef pepper steak!!
Namibia's iconic meat-eaters and beer drinkers paradise!
Extremely popular with locals and visitors alike so book in advance and enjoy the decor, fireplace and excellent atmosphere. Not for vegans!
Joe's is legendary Windhoek. Food is nice, but the decor is nothing like you have ever seen. If you are a local you will be a regular. If you are a tourist, no visit to Namibia is complete without visiting Joe's
This is a very unique and interesting setup that can only be described as a landmark that you just have to see. Food and atmosphere is great. A definite must visit!
Excellent environment! Very good service and great food. Good variety of beer and a delicious craft pale ale. Crowded with beautiful people and reservations are recommended even though we got a table without reservations on a Saturday night. Will definitely come back! Recommended.
Its a great place with a great atmosphere. The food is good and they have plenty of beer. It is quite expensive though. I do not recommend their cocktails though ( I had the worst cocktail) better stick to beer. There is parking space and the service is good. This place is great for lunch, dining and there is a bar.
Nice vibe, love the decor, but food not worth the money.
This is a great place to taste the best of Nambian local cuisine. Get the "Bushman" meat platter. It would have been helpful if the waiter would explain a little bit of what you are eating. There is not much interaction with the employees. This was a minus point.
Great service, nice location and interior. The menu is extensive, including different game and even crocodile. It's also a nice place to just have a beer. There's a car boot sale on the parking lot every now and then.
Amazing place with good food and good beer. The service is very good, everybody very polite. I'd definitely get back there if i go to Namibia once again.
We are teetotal, but still enjoy this place! The food is always fantastic and you can (optionally) sit at large tables where you may meet some new dining friends. The scale of the place is surprising and deserves a little time exploring Joe's collections of, well, everything and anything. The bicycle bell on the ox horn used as a door handle is an image I'll always remember.
