We were debating stopping here because it was slightly out of our way but so glad we did. Really cool and interesting.

This is one of the most amazing experiences I had with my kids. To actually sit on the biggest meteor that fell on earth and the kids to experience this was a memory I will always remember. I also read that NASA actually came out at one point but it was to big to move so now it is a spot to visit for anybody. It is kind of in the middle of know where but if you plan to go past Grootfontein you might as well stop here

Largest meteorite in the world. I visited this place but it wasn't quite fascinating Just had a small sightseeing.. It was given the name "Hoba" because it was discovered on a farm named "Hoba West." Hoba is thought to have fallen to Earth about 80,000 years ago. It is composed of about 84% iron, 16% nickel, and trace amounts of cobalt and other metals.( I came to know these facts from a guide)

A great place to relax and have a picnic while the kids play on a surprisingly cool meteorite.

This is probably the only place in the world where you can actually stand on a meteorite! It's also the largest one apparently. There are toilets and some gardens where you can eat lunch. There's a small shop too selling drinks.

Worth driving out to see this alien rock. Is a shame that there is no shade area around the meteorite or more comfortable seating arrangements. Reason for 4 star and not 5 is because the shop sells South African products (e.g. Zulu Spices) which makes no sense.

What's interesting is that it's solid metal and all was so fascinated by it wanted to look for my old science books and all 😉. Will gooogle more bout this so I can speculated and think more about where it's from kkkk

It is good to see the largest meteorite visible on earth but in itself not that much interesting. The place looks very nice and it seams that you can also have picnic or even camp here. That would be nice. It would also be nice if they served coffee beer or something small to eat. As it is you can just buy some soft drinks. Bun nice place anyway, worth visiting if you are passing by.

The meteorite itself is quite impressive, but I think the way it is displayed (in the bottom of a hole with seating around it) seemed dissapointing. When I went, there was no additional information given about the age, composition, or discovery of the meteorite.

Not as big as I expected but definitely something worth seeing so you can brag to your friends about it. Also, there are no aliens near the metro. Disappointed by that.

This was the first meteorite I have ever seen. It is pretty amazing to see something that came from outer space. However, don't expect too much from it. It is a visit of about 10 minutes.
