Jet Therapy is a revolutionary and unique invention that uses pure air to stimulate the circulation through deep, yet pain free massage. It's non-invasive and is medically approved as a safe device.
How does it work?
Compressed air passes through a venturi system containing heater elements, medically approved filters, oil drip-feeders and regulators. This purified air is then channelled through a hose to the specially designed and patented hand-held jets for application to the skin.
The jets are designed to set up an agitation, which provides the circulatory massage without damaging the skin tissue. The result of a Jet Therapy treatment is a significant improvement in blood circulation, which enhances the healing process of diseased tissue, aids the removal of toxins from the body and promotes a more stable circulatory system.
The special jets have one or more outlets on the head to create different degrees of airflow, each jet providing a particular type of action.
How did the concept evolve?
The process was discovered by Garth O' Connor, during his extensive search to find a cure to treat and alleviate the suffering of his wife, Lee, a diabetic suffering with ulcers due to poor circulation. After exploring many conventional and non-conventional options with limited success, Garth began to realise that the answer had to be something new and revolutionary--as yet undiscovered. He applied himself creatively to this end, using every known massaging device to increase blood flow to the feet. After many starts that initially looked promising but did not deliver the required results, Garth finally made a breakthrough.
"I was working with a large air compressor used in construction. My finger was extremely painful that day, as I had broken it when I was a youngster. Casually, I stroked my finger with the air nozzle. The sensation was amazing. I felt some relief in the pain in my finger, and I realised that I had stumbled onto something that may help my suffering wife."
"Naturally I was nervous because I was very aware of the general industry consensus when working with compressed air applications, that one should never direct air onto the body, even to clean dusty overalls. Extensive consultations with medical engineers and substantial clinical research followed. Unfortunately the first Jet Therapy prototype was developed too late to save Lee's leg. But the final product was launched at the end of 1999 and formed the basis for the modern Jet Therapy system.
The clinical results and the many satisfied clients have proved that the Jet Therapy system works. And of course, Lee O'Connor has regular treatment to make sure that she does not lose her remaining good leg.
