We had a good experience here as a familywe were forced to unplug and focus on the things that are really important. This area has stunning rock formations and God's sunrises and sunsets are spectacular.

What an believable site. A must see for any visitor who travel in this part of Namibia. The viewpoint is a photographer's dream. Choose Your time of day for this. Viewpoint is secure if You stay within the set boundaries. Always be on the alert if you have fear for heights. There is toilet facilities but when we visited there was no toilet paper. Remember to bring your own paper. Tarif in April 2018 was N$ 130 per couple which is 65 per adult. Roads were relatively good after heavy rains.

Breathtaking views.. Nice and clean facilities. Worth the time to go and have a view of the world's second largest canyon. There is a lovely splash pool at the entrance gate, and you can ask the hotel permission to cool off there once you get back from the viewpoint. If you drive a little north from the main viewpoint you will find the start of the fishriver canyon hiking trail.. the views from this side is definitely worth seeing.

Upon arrival at the entrance to the area there an entrance fee to be paid and the usual filling in of details. There is a shop here and a restaurant with a bar and a swimming pool, both of which are welcome in the heat.

Ice is sold here so you refill your cooler box if so inclined.

Its then a short drive to the viewing point. This is a simple facility with beautiful expansive views of this canyon. There are a set of information boards and ablution facilities.

The ablution unfortunately were out of order during our visit. This is quite irritating as one has no realistic options for ablutions.

I must say the view was amazing! But I think just going for the view was too boring for my taste and would have much rather hiked the trail which wasn't possible since I was there in the summer and the trails are closed at that time of the year. Nevertheless, best time for viewing and photography is easy morning before sunrise.

Best early in the morning or late at the afternoon. Some guidebooks suggest to visit the canyon during noon hours because the canyon runs north to south. I would go there when the sun is still low and some shadows add 3D to your photos.
In general: very nice and impressive canyon (even if its A LOT smaller than the famous Grand Canyon). Definitely worth the trio.

At first I wanted to skip the Fish River Canyon from our roadtrip in Namibia. However, the view from this main view point is spectacular. Try to be here as early as possible for nice light. Totally worth it.

Beautiful and quiet. Make sure you head down the canyon to other viewpoints.
