Description

Namibia is renowned for its breathtaking Desert scenery, Wide open spaces, German architecture, nomadic Himba pastoralists, elusive Desert adapted elephant of the Namib and its friendly people. Namibia however also offers its best kept secret to hunters for big game in Africa today namely the water rich Caprivi in north eastern Namibia.

Today as one of the most sought-after hunting destinations in Africa, Namibia can offer the hunter a diversity of habitats to stalk their quarry, which few other countries in the world can equal. In Namibia you can still experience an Africa of the past, where Springbok congregate in their thousands after a good raining season and Oryx are silhouetted against massive sand dunes in the Kaokoveld of north western Namibia. Some of the largest populations of elephant, hippopotamus and buffalo are to be found in the Caprivi Region of north eastern Namibia.

Your host, Anton and Wanda Esterhuizen, therefore invites you to be part of a hunting safari in Namibia, which will introduce you to some of the most unique habitats to hunt for plains game as well as dangerous game in their natural environment. In this wilderness you can still experience the legacy of years gone by when hunting was done on foot, as Estreux Safaris is dedicated to offer you, the hunter:

We continue to look at natural springs in the Kaokoveld of north western Namibia. This is the more well known Ogams Spring situated close to the border of the Skeleton Coast Park, where the Sanitatas and Okondjombo Conservancies merge. The top photograph borrowed from Garth Owen-Smith during the drought in the early 1980’s and the bottom photograph towards the end of 2004. If you have the desire to hunt a vast and remote wilderness area like the Kaokoveld contact us at: info@estreuxsafaris.com We only allowed a very limited number of hunters on very strict quotas per year in our concessions for sustainability purposes.

Two similar photographs of the beautiful Sanitatas spring in the Kaokoveld of north western Namibia. The first borrowed from the book “An Arid Eden” by Garth Owen-Smith taken in the mid 1960’s and the second during a slightly drier year in 2008. Hunters that prefer to hunt in one of the last true wilderness areas in Africa today, which is truly vast and remote with exceptional trophies can contact us at: info@estreuxsafaris.com

The arid north west of Namibia. This beautiful spring between the mountains in the Ganumub River where elephant use to quench their thirst in the old days before artificial waterpoints were build in the Hoanib River. Fotunately very few people knows about this spring.
