An unusual stunningly decorated facility in the middle of nowhere. A gateway to the fish river canyon. Menu service and quality of food match expectations. Facilities spotless for camping and reasonably priced. An oasis of high quality

An absolute must if you are in the area. Very interesting old cars incorporated in the restaurant. Food good, bar good, pool excellent!! We stayed in one of the rooms (a bit expensive), but super clean and luxury. Staff very helpful and knowledgable.

This is wonderful place to stay over and use as a base for exploring the fish river canyon area.

The site has a resturant, lovely pool, and fuel filling station.

The camp sites are nicely laid out, with easy access to several ablution facilities.

There are some picturesque hikes, and various species of buck walking through the area. An abundance of birds for bird lovers.

Ice is a premium commodity and they would do well to improve their supply. This is my only complaint. We were not able to get ice from the shop for the entire 3 days we were there.

    Definitely reccomended.

The rooms were really nice in terms of comfort and cleanliness. There is no TV or Fridge in the room, which I thought it a bit odd especially with the rates for the lodge. The food was alright although with a limited variation. Staff were completely slow, not sure whether they were overwhelmed or what the case was. As with a lot of places in Namibia as well, staff tend to serve the whites without taking notice of blacks. (I put this down to mental colonisation). Was an overall OK stay but I would not stay here again rather the Canyon Village, which I heard was very nice in comparison.

We planned to camp here for one night ,but upon arrival booked for another night . The Roadhouse is an eclectic mix of old. automobiles and motoring paraphernalia. The food was excellent , the pool was refreshingly cool ,and it is a short drive to the Fish River Canyon. The campsites ablution facilities are large and clean

Such a quirky and original atmosphere! Sophisticated decoration, devoted staff and great lunch menu (1st vegetarian burger I've found in Namibia!).

Walk up the hill behind the hotel: one of the best things about the Canyon Roadhouse is its location, and a great way to appreciate that is to walk up the hill behind the hotel at sundown. Ask at reception for details (it's a free of charge hiking trail), pass by the bar to buy yourself a couple of drinks and then take the back door to the camping site and walk up the hill. It's a leisurely five to ten minute trek (don't spill those drinks), and then you suddenly have a panoramic view of the spectacular surroundings. Time to appreciate the glorious sunset, the changing colours all around you and just slow down. In the distance, the dust cloud of a speeding SUV trying to get home before dark

We camped there spontaneously and the staff was so friendly. Nice campsites with great (clean, hot) showers. Breakfast was amazing. Nice vegetarian options for Dinner. Camping was even though a little expensive.

We had a very pleasant stay here. The food is great, the staff friendly and the camping area and ablutions are clean and neat. We will go back in summer time to enjoy the lovely swimming pool.

Our first stop in Namibia. Had a lovely overnight stay there. This is a very busy stopover travellers coming and going. Food served is good. Staff are friendly. Management is very helpful. I have only two negatives firstly there was a lot of rubbish outside our room door. Secondly I feel the view of the Fish River Canyon from the main view point is over rated. Had I known what I was in for I would rather have spent an extra day at Solitaire Desert Farm.

This review is for the restaurant /day trip only as I did not spend the night to review accommodation.
The place is great! Truly one of a kind! The crowded, casual, laid back atmosphere and vintage car decor may not be everyone's cup if tea but it is definitely worth a visit even just to stop by. Had dinner there and had one of the beast meals of my trip! Best to call before if going for dinner as it gets quite full

Lovely set in the middle of nowhere . . .a lovely old car cemetery, good food and good accommodation! Although they don't have any competitors, there food and service is of expected standards

One of my favorite bars in Africa, Canyon Road House includes a bar, restaurant, B&B, campsite, art gallery, filling station and curiosity store.

The venue has a rustic appeal with many interesting classic cars and mining vehicles from the 40's to 70's that are a part of the restaurant and grounds.

Hearty portions of roadhouse food with decent coffee are available until late in the evening.

The roadhouse is about 14km from the Hobas wild reserve, access point to the Fish River Canyon lookout point.

I love the antique, roadhouse/garage feel of the place. The decor is quite retro and fairly interesting for petrol heads. The all you can eat breakfast buffet is simply delicious and a must have if you are passing through. The toilet facilities are especially "interesting".
